Svingarmsutveckling för Ecoist

This report is about a construction project carried out in collaboration with an electric car developer of a three-wheeled vehicle to fit the production version, improve production conditions and ease of use. The project was carried out together with the electric car developer, Ecoists, founder Thomas Koch who is an experienced engineer with a great passion for his product. The project includes a study of different types of swing arms and its advantages and disadvantages from both a manufacturing and a user point of view. The project group then evaluates these and finally chooses to continue the development of a single-sided swingarm of welded profiles as the project group considers it to be the most suitable design in terms of user-friendliness, production conditions and economy. Subsequently, CAD data is created for the final design. On this, finite element calculations are performed to optimize the design after calculated load cases and then modified to improve the design. This concludes with a first edition in the form of drawing data for cost calculations and prototype production. The project group also reports on surrounding factors that affect the development of the swingarm, its surrounding components and investigation of the self-production of an eccentric hub in relation to acquiring a finished component. The report also includes a brief study of the impact of design and manufacturing on social, economic, environmental and work environment aspects.
