Project EQS - Elektronisk växelreglering för motorcykel

Färnstrand, John, Lindsten, Anders January 2008 (has links)

Husaberg Scandinavia AB is a company producing and developing a range of motorcycles for both on- and off-road use. Husaberg provided the project group with a task of developing an entirely new way of operating the sequential transmission that can be found in today’s motorcycles. The target was to bring the product from idea to a functional prototype ready for further tests. Operation of the motorcycles transmission is today made by a foot pedal placed on the left hand side of the bike. This position is not optimal and therefore sometimes forces the driver to operate the bike in a faulty gear during certain circumstances as in sharp left turns and in technical sections where the driver uses the legs for side support. This results in loss of time which can’t be afforded during a race. In certain cases the foot pedal can be severely damaged which may even force the driver to leave the competition. The competition between companies in this business is really though. Innovation and product developing are therefore key elements for a company’s future existence. The work during the project has resulted in a new product which exceeds all the demands that the user puts to it. Effort has been made to include factors as functionality, technical height and user friendliness. The project started of with creative thinking, user surveys and examinations within known technique. A great number of methods have thereafter been used to develop a final idea and a functional prototype. The result is EQS, Electronic Quick Shift. A product that enhances the possibility of changing gears during the most demanding circumstances. The product gives the driver an optimal control over the gear operation, resulting in a more effective driving style and the saving of time during every race. By moving the operation of the transmission from today’s foot pedal to buttons on the handle bar, change in gears can be made even when the driver uses the legs as support. EQS allows for great possibilities when it comes to further development. For example EQS may offer persons with functional disorders the possibility and freedom of driving a motorcycle. In the future EQS may also add better fuel efficiency and a decrease of emissions on motorcycles equipped with the system.

We got in touch with a company in Halmstad with a history of having theises inconnection with the mechanical engineering programs at Halmstad University. Asa response to the availability to a thesis we got a proposal to develop an earlierthesis that the company has had with them. Upon further investigation of thethesis, we decided with the company that a full trailer would be constructed. Ourreport includes our steps to develop a concept design of a trailer. All the essentialsteps we have taken are described in the report, from the conceptual stage to thepoint where you’re able to produce a prototype. We started with the regulationsand standards that exist in the subject, these are closer mentioned in the report. The result of the thesis is a concept design for a trailer, we do believe there isopportunity for further growth, especially through the development of a prototype

Prototyp för analys av körteknik med motorcykel

Hjort, Andrej January 2015 (has links)

Abadir Guirgis, Georg January 2011 (has links)

Lindqvist, August, Olsson, Hampus January 2020 (has links)
This report is about a construction project carried out in collaboration with an electric car developer of a three-wheeled vehicle to fit the production version, improve production conditions and ease of use. The project was carried out together with the electric car developer, Ecoists, founder Thomas Koch who is an experienced engineer with a great passion for his product. The project includes a study of different types of swing arms and its advantages and disadvantages from both a manufacturing and a user point of view. The project group then evaluates these and finally chooses to continue the development of a single-sided swingarm of welded profiles as the project group considers it to be the most suitable design in terms of user-friendliness, production conditions and economy. Subsequently, CAD data is created for the final design. On this, finite element calculations are performed to optimize the design after calculated load cases and then modified to improve the design. This concludes with a first edition in the form of drawing data for cost calculations and prototype production. The project group also reports on surrounding factors that affect the development of the swingarm, its surrounding components and investigation of the self-production of an eccentric hub in relation to acquiring a finished component. The report also includes a brief study of the impact of design and manufacturing on social, economic, environmental and work environment aspects.

Ahmadi, Diako, Surtevall, Rickard January 2023 (has links)
This report covers a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering program at School of Engineering at Jönköping University. The work in the report is carried out by Diako Ahmadi and Rickard Surtevall where the assignment is originally performed by Mattr Collective AB. Mattr has been commissioned by the Swedish Motorsport Federation (Svemo) to follow through with this project. The background to this project is to develop an add-on kit which makes it possible to electrify the 2023 model Yamaha R3 motorcycle. The final goal for the client (Svemo) is to start a cost and climate-effective racing class for electrified motorcycles 2024. Through-out the report, calculations and simulations are presented to evaluate the stiffness of the motorcycle and the technical solution. The mission taker, Mattr, have developed a prototype built on a smaller motorcycle, a Yamaha R125. The outcome of the prototype had some issues such as deficit in its performance and carrying capacity. Thus, this project has covered those points that Mattr had problems with on their prototype. At first, a study has been performed on the motorcycle’s frame where a representative model has been recreated. The recreated frame together with different test methods will act as a benchmark for comparison between the add-on kit and the original frame. This because the manufacturer doesn’t hand out files and technical specifications. During the course of the work, the product development method Double Diamond have been used to make several iterations through FEA (Finite Element Analysis), this to obtain a result by evaluating and simulating. The result of this work is an add-on kit which is compatible with a Yamaha R3, this without affecting the motorcycle’s appearance and stiffness. Through the simulations, the add-on kit performs better together with the electrical components than with the combustion engine in some of the studies. Through the simulations, conclusions can be made that the different electrical components aren’t affected negatively on their performance through high displacements. The world is currently trying to transition to a more fossil-free society, this where electrical solutions are a major contributing factor. Several industries are trying to electrify their products to contribute to a less climate impact, hence the reason for this project.

Hafström, Alfred, Salmi, Simon January 2023 (has links)

Andersson, Markus, Åberg, Eric January 2007 (has links)

Highland Group AB was helping a customer of theirs to create an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV), a project Highland has never been involved with before. For the wishbone arms of the wheel suspension, traditional manufacturing methods and tubes with cylindrical or square shaped cross section was preferred. We performed a simulation where the ATV was driving on a bumpy road too see the forces involved. With the results we proceeded to calculate the strength of the concepts to find out which is best suited for the tough environment in which the ATV is used. The concept that turned out to be the best was a wishbone made of circular cross section, which had good structural strength and did fulfill the demands that we required for the construction. The company where interested in the project and could see themselves proceeding with the work in the future. We helped the company to find interest for computer aided simulation in collaboration with structural strength analysis, which they would like to engage in. The project has given us a larger knowledge in the choices of construction and structural strength analysis as well as experience working with computer aided construction tools.
