Supervisor: Ulf Drugge Assessor: Agneta Hedblom Keywords: employment, mental unhealthy, quality of life, SF-36, mentally disabled The aim of this study was to evaluate a local employment project, called “Kustkraft”. The project is a cooperation between three municipalities and the county council in Kalmar County. Financier of the project has been the Swedish government. One of project’s targets was to increase the quality of life for mentally disabled people. My work was to investigate, using Health Survey - SF-36, if the quality of life has been higher for the participants in the project. The first measure has been done in the beginning of the project and the second measure has been done after one year. The methods of this study are both qualitative and quantitative. I have used a scientific questionnaire complemented with some interviews. The conclusion of this study is that the participants in the project “Kustkraft” feel that they have increased their quality of life during the time of the project.
