Detta är ett examensarbete i informationsdesign med inriktning textdesign. Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka vilka svårigheter studenter med dyslexi ställs inför när de besöker sidan Studera med funktionsnedsättning på Mälardalens universitets hemsida, för att kunna lösa de problem som uppstår och tillgodose de behov som finns. Resultaten som framkommer genom detta arbete ska sedan stå i grund för en guide till Mälardalens universitet om hur de kan anpassa hela hemsidan för att bli mer tillgänglig. Rullstolsburna personer behöver inte bära på sina egna ramper, så varför kan inte hemsidor vara mer tillgängligt anpassade för personer med dyslexi? Metoderna i detta arbete som kommer utföras för att undersöka kring användarna och deras behov är deltagande observationer, intervjuer, fokusgrupp, A/B tester och enkät. Utifrån de genomförda metoderna har det framkommit att mottagarna önskar att få fler tillgänglighetsalternativ i form av uppläsning, få möjligheten att ändra färg på bakgrunden samt ändra typsnitt. Utöver dessa tillgänglighetsanpassningar har det även framkommit att annorlunda rubriksättning, annat gränssnitt och layout är önskat från användarna samt att innehållet på brödtexterna ska minska. Prototyper har utformats utifrån de framtagna resultaten och finns att ta del av i slutet av denna rapport. Teorierna som används i arbetet är läsbarhetsteorier, lättlästhet, läsförståelse samt universell design och tillgänglighet för webb. Dessa teorier har använts för att styrka arbetets relevans och forskning där informationen som framkommer från tidigare forskning testas och analyseras utifrån målgruppen för detta arbete. Teoriernas sammanställning och fakta tillsammans med metodresultaten kommer sedan stå i grund för utformningen där universell design appliceras för att skapa en mer användarvänlig och tillgänglig sida från början där även innehållet blir mer lättläst för att öka läsbarheten för målgruppen. / This is a thesis in information design with a focus on text design. The purpose of this work is to investigate the difficulties faced by students with dyslexia when visiting the Study with Disabilities page on Mälardalens university’s website in order to solve the problems that arise and meet the needs that exist. The results obtained through this work will then form the basis for a guide to Mälardalen University on how to adapt the entire website to become more accessible and apply universal design. Wheelchair users do not need to carry their own ramps, so why can't websites be more accessible for people with dyslexia? The methods used in this work to further investigate users and their needs include participatory observations, interviews, focus groups, and A/B testing. Based on the methods conducted, it has been found that users wish to have more accessibility options such as text- to-speech, the ability to change the background color, and font style. In addition to these accessibility adjustments, it has also been found that different headline formatting, a different interface and layout are desired by users, and that the content of the body text should be reduced. Prototypes have been designed based on the results obtained and can be found at the end of this report. The theories used in this work are readability theories, easy-to-read text, reading comprehension, and universal design and web accessibility. These theories have been used to support the relevance of the work and research where the information obtained from previous research is tested and analyzed based on the target group for this work. The sammary and facts of the theories together with the method results will then form the basis for the design where universal design is applied to create a more user-friendly and accessible site from the start, where the content also becomes easier to read to increase readability for the target group.
