Previous issue date: 2014-04-03 / The green revolution and the technological revolution that began after the Second World War
intensified the urbanization and industrialization process that began with capitalist
development and Brazilian agriculture modernization. These changes helped the expulsion of
peasants from their lands, leading them to the cities. The cities had no planning or
infrastructure for this, so they have become a major social problem (unemployment, violence
and spatial segregation). The town, at first, is born as financial capital reproduction; as the
locus of products circulation and consumption. And the field becomes more dependent on the
city and intensifies its relationship with the city from the capitalist development. The urban
society emerges in this context as "modern society" subordinating the peasant and
stereotyping them as weak and delayed. And this favored by the scientific technical revolution
relationship does not occur homogeneously, but prints a new spatial dynamics, introducing a
new iteration of rural areas with urban spaces because of the transportation and
communication means, building accessibility between the two territories. The accessibility
that makes it easy for the farmer has a key role for the consumer population that, besides
producing much of the food being consumed, consumes the products of modernity, the media
enhances the purchasing power and consumption of these products. Within this context to
understand the urban-rural relationship and define the differences between urban life and rural
life, and observe the submission countryside to the city in many ways, we see that the field is
increasingly dependent on the city, as explicit in loans and financing for agriculture, which
makes a relationship of dependency between the two spaces. This understanding of the locus
of research that will be Macaúba - Catalan (GO) and capitalist transformations that leave the
boost consumption, social organization, and city appreciation and urban culture community,
within the “urbanity” context in rural. It is understood that the rural is a space that influences
and is influenced by urban, rural incorporates the urban values, but still retain their rural
values, in any case, the capitalist mass culture falls within the field as well as the urban
culture influenced by the media interfere in community life. / A revolução verde e a revolução tecnológica, iniciadas após a segunda Guerra Mundial,
intensificaram o processo de urbanização e industrialização, oriundas do desenvolvimento
capitalista e da modernização da agricultura brasileira. Essas transformações favoreceram a
expulsão de camponeses de suas terras, e os direcionaram para as cidades que, desprovidas de
planejamentos e falta de infraestrutura, tornaram-se um problema social (desemprego,
violência e segregação espacial). A cidade, a princípio, nasce como reprodução do capital
financeiro, lócus da circulação e consumo de mercadorias. E o campo, a partir do
desenvolvimento capitalista, torna-se mais dependente da cidade, e intensifica sua relação
com a cidade. A sociedade urbana surge dentro desse contexto como a “sociedade moderna”
que subordina o camponês e o estereotipa como fraco e atrasado. E essa relação favorecida
pela revolução técnico cientifica, mesmo que não ocorra de forma homogênea, imprime uma
nova dinâmica espacial, institui uma nova interação das áreas rurais com os espaços urbanos
devido ao avanço tanto dos meios de transporte como os de comunicação, construindo
acessibilidade entre os dois territórios. Acessibilidade que falicita com que o camponês tenha
um papel fundamental para a população de consumo que, além de produzir boa parte dos
alimentos a serem consumidos, consome os tais produtos da modernidade que, aliada ao
poder da mídia, intensifica o poder de compra e de consumo. Dentro desse contexto em
compreender a relação campo-cidade, delimitar diferença entre cidade e campo, entre vida
urbana e vida rural, e da submissão do campo à cidade em inúmeras formas, faz com que o
campo dependa cada vez mais da cidade, explícitos a empréstimos e financiamentos
destinados à agricultura, o que torna uma relação de dependência entre os dois espaços. Esse
entendimento ocorre na Comunidade Macaúba no município de Catalão, Estado de Goiás.
Diante das transformações capitalistas, incentivo ao consumo, organização social, valorização
da cidade e da cultura urbana, dentro do contexto da urbanidade no rural. Entende-se que o
rural é um espaço que influencia e é influenciado pelo urbano, que incorpora seus valores
urbanos, mas também mantêm seus valores rurais, como a cultura de massa capitalista, insere
no campo, e como a cultura urbana influenciada pela mídia interfere na vida da comunidade.
