Previous issue date: 2007-12-27 / This research aimed to know how the environmental education is put into practice in
the School of Fortaleza VILA, seeking to understand its meaning and content cross
and the relationships that children and other people in the community school set with
the environment through the observation of how to act and to behave in daily life.
Start placing the reader in the educational context: laws and requirements, followed
by concepts: the man x environment, environmental education, school and
sustainability. This is a case study, with qualitative approach from the participant
observation, interviews and analysis of the documentary: didactic material and
Project-Political Education. It was motivated by the deteriorating environmental
situation and the role that it plays the man in order that the relationship with the
environment is inherent in the human being. In this context, environmental education
is a way of building a sustainable society. In the course methodology, were used
semi-structured interviews, interviews of explicit, participant observation and
photographs of children. The study was carried out in the segment of primary
education, the 2° to 5 th year. The sample consisted of 29 participants, being 14
students in the age group between 7 and 11 years old, 5 teachers of the classes in
which they were made the remark participant, 4 representatives of the technical staff
of the school: 2 supervisory educational, 1 psychologist and director and 6 parents of
students. The analysis of the data shows that the curriculum of the school was
mounted around environmental issues, from which all other disciplines are worked
through a broad curriculum, activities, experiences, content organized in a
meaningful cross. It concludes that all this work favors the formation of ecological
consciousness in people that are part of that community. The values in the school
environment experienced foster affective sensibilities and the establishment of the
link with the space, factors in determining significance of the relationship of man with
the environment. In the context of this research, there was how important and urgent
is the implementation of environmental education in schools, and the discussion and
dissemination of experiences such as the School VILA. This study points to the need
for the school take their social role bringing to the stage of classrooms the issues that
are part of daily life of students. After all, the reality of the world condemns it is
necessary to redo habits, attitudes and behaviors. If not through awareness, the
need happen.
Keywords: environmental education, the environment, school / Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo conhecer de que forma a educação ambiental é
colocada em prática na Escola VILA de Fortaleza, buscando compreender o seu
significado como conteúdo transversal e as relações que as crianças e as demais
pessoas da comunidade escolar estabelecem com o ambiente, por meio da
observação de como atuam e se comportam no cotidiano. Inicia situando o leitor no
contexto educacional: leis e exigências, seguido dos conceitos: relação homem x
meio ambiente, educação ambiental, escola e sustentabilidade. Trata-se de um
estudo de caso, com abordagem qualitativa a partir da observação participante, das
entrevistas e análise documental: material didático e Projeto Político-Pedagógico.
Foi motivada pelo agravamento da situação ambiental e o papel que o homem
desempenha nela, tendo em vista que a relação com o ambiente é inerente ao ser
humano. Neste contexto, a educação ambiental é um dos caminhos para a
construção de uma sociedade sustentável. No percurso metodológico, foram
utilizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas, entrevistas de explicitação, observação
participante e fotografias das crianças. O estudo foi realizado no segmento do
Ensino Fundamental, do 2° ao 5º ano. A amostra consistiu em 29 participantes,
sendo 14 estudantes, na faixa etária entre 7 e 11 anos de idade; 5 professoras das
turmas nas quais foram feitas a observação participante; 4 representantes da equipe
técnica da escola: 2 supervisoras pedagógicas, 1 psicóloga e a diretora e 6 pais de
alunos. A análise dos dados evidencia que o currículo da escola foi montado em
torno das questões ambientais, a partir das quais todas as demais disciplinas são
trabalhadas por meio de um currículo amplo, de atividades vivencias, de conteúdos
significativos organizados de forma transdisciplinar. Conclui que todo esse trabalho
favorece a formação da consciência ecológica nas pessoas que fazem parte daquela
comunidade. Os valores ambientais vivenciados na escola fomentam sensibilidades
afetivas e a criação do vínculo com os espaços, fatores determinantes na
significação da relação do homem com o ambiente. No contexto dessa investigação,
observou-se o quão importante e urgente é a implementação da educação ambiental
nas escolas, assim como a discussão e divulgação de experiências como a da
Escola VILA. Este estudo aponta para a necessidade de a escola assumir seu papel
social trazendo para o palco das salas de aula as questões que fazem parte do
cotidiano da vida dos alunos. Afinal, a realidade do Planeta denuncia que é
necessário refazer hábitos, posturas e comportamentos. Se isso não acontecer por
meio da consciência, acontecerá pela necessidade.
