Previous issue date: 2010-05-12 / The objective of this material is to present, discuss and analyze the theoretical work of Paul Israel Singer regarding the solidarity economy . The author attributes a significant role to the cooperatives, while rejecting the revolutionary political struggle of the proletariat by the conquest of state power as a strategy for the implementation of socialism. We demonstrate through this study that the fundamental thesis about the transition of the socialist, remained in his theoretical work on the "solidarity economy", specifically: 1) the rejection of the proletariat‟s revolutionary political struggle; 2) and the conditioning of the political struggle (for the democratization) in relation to the economic struggle for self-production. In the theoretical works about the solidarity economy , in opposition to the revolutionary socialist theory, the author reinforces the utopian socialist concept and transforms the struggle for self-production within capitalism into a socialist struggle / Este trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar, discutir e analisar a produção teórica de Paul Israel Singer sobre a economia solidária . O autor atribui papel preponderante ao cooperativismo, ao mesmo tempo em que rejeita a luta política revolucionária do proletariado pela conquista do poder de Estado como estratégia para a implantação do socialismo. Procuramos demonstrar ao longo deste estudo que as teses fundamentais acerca da transição socialista mantiveram-se em sua produção teórica relativa à economia solidária , em especial: 1) a rejeição da luta política revolucionária do proletariado; 2) o condicionamento da luta política pela democratização do Estado à luta econômica pela autogestão produtiva dos meios de produção. Nas obras sobre a economia solidária, em oposição à teoria socialista revolucionária, o autor tenta revigorar a concepção socialista utópica e converte em luta socialista, a luta pela autogestão produtiva no interior do capitalismo
