Previous issue date: 2016-08-19 / Investigamos nessa pesquisa sobre a forma, a função e os usos dados à memória sobre Dona Joaquina do Pompéu nos anos finais do século XX e nos anos iniciais do século XXI na cidade de Pompéu-MG. Por meio de uma investigação participante no Centro Cultural Dona Joaquina do Pompéu e no Museu da Cidade, observamos que a trajetória da família de D. Joaquina de Pompéu se projeta na constituição do formato da memória sobre essa personalidade que tem a função de criar/(re)significar o imaginário social sobre o mito que deu origem à história da cidade afim de manter o compartilhamento de um mesmo conjunto de ideias e imagens que regem a sociedade pompeana. Percebemos que o uso que se faz dessa memória se concentra na construção de um estoque de bens materiais e imateriais que se ligam a essa memória e que possam ser empregados para o desenvolvimento político e econômico do município, tanto em via pública, quanto em via privada. A partir da análise desenvolvida, apontamos para a construção de um livro paradidático que possa ser utilizado em meio educativo sobre o uso da memória sobre D. Joaquina como fonte de um estudo de História crítico. / In this research we investigated the form, function and other uses that Joaquina of Pompéu’s memory is given on the late twentieth century and early twenty-first century in the city of Pompéu/MG. Through a participatory investigation at the Cultural Center Dona Joaquina of Pompéu and the City Museum, we observed that the trajectory of Joaquina of Pompéu’s family projects in the constitution of the memory format about this personality that has the purpose to create/ (re)define the social imagery of the myth that gave rise to the city’s history in order to maintain sharing the same set of ideas and images that rules Pompéu’s society. We noticed that the use made of this memory is focused on building a tangible and intangible inventory of assets that are connected to that memory and can be used for political and economic development of the city, both public and private. From the analysis developed, we point out to the construction of a textbook that can be used in an educational environment about Lady Joaquina’s memory usage as a source of a study of critical history. / Dissertação não apresenta número de páginas a partir da página 62
