Previous issue date: 2015-08-31 / CAPEs / Esta pesquisa trata do uso das imagens nas aulas de Artes Visuais, tendo como foco de
investigação a prática pedagógica de duas professoras, Tarsila e Frida, nomes fictícios, as
quais têm formação acadêmica específica nesse componente curricular e atuam em escolas da
Rede Municipal de Ensino do Recife (RMER) de bairros distintos. Baseia-se na observação
presencial de algumas aulas, na análise de relatos das práticas pedagógicas das professoras,
bem como em questionários aplicados a professores de Artes, participantes de formação
continuada, e depoimentos de gestores e de membros da Equipe Técnica da Secretaria de
Educação da RMER. A pesquisa tem caráter quantitativo e qualitativo, com base documental
e etnográfica. As categorias usadas para fundamentar teoricamente a pesquisa referem-se aos
conceitos de imagem, de leitura e de leitura de imagem, concebidos por diferentes autores.
Com os dados obtidos, foi possível categorizar variadas perspectivas de usos das imagens, as
instâncias de escolhas, as condições arquitetônicas e midiáticas dos usos. A pesquisa é
reveladora de que a imagem é, corriqueiramente, usada pelas professoras investigadas, que há
diversos meios de acesso, diferentes perspectivas de usos e instâncias de escolhas. Embora, se
reconheça a influência determinante da instituição – RMER –, por intermédio das Matrizes
Curriculares, na escolha e uso das imagens. É notória, também, a inserção de experiências e
proposições docentes e discentes. A pesquisa enfatiza a necessidade de se continuar
investigando as dinâmicas da sala de aula e a necessidade de uma formação continuada
pautada na inventividade docente, fundada nos Direitos de Aprendizagem e nas necessidades
e expectativas dos estudantes. / This research deals with the use of images in the Visual Arts classes, which focuses on the
teaching practice of two teachers, Tarsila and Frida, fictitious names, who have specific
academic training in this curriculum component and teach in the Municipal Education System
of Recife (RMER) in different neighborhoods. It is based on classroom observation of some
of their classes, in the analysis reports of both teachers’ pedagogical practices, as well as
questionnaires given to Arts teachers that took part in continuing education training, and
testimonials from managers and members of the Technical Team of the Education Secretariat
of RMER. This research has quantitative and qualitative approaches, with documentary and
ethnographic base. The categories used to justify theoretically the research refers to imaging
concepts, reading and image reading, designed by different authors. With the obtained data, it
was possible to categorize different perspectives of the images uses, the instances of choices,
the architectural and media conditions of use. The research reveals that the image is,
routinely, used by the teachers investigated, that there are several means of access, different
perspectives of use and instances of choices. Although we recognize the decisive influence of
the institution - RMER - via the Curriculum Matrix, the choice and use of the images, it is
evident, too, the inclusion of teachers and students experiences and propositions. The research
emphasizes the need to continue investigating the dynamics of the classroom and the need for
continuing education in teacher guided inventiveness, founded in Learning Rights and the
needs and expectations of students.
