clarinetas em L? e Si bemol e as an?lises demonstraram grande
similaridades entre os timbres destes instrumentos.ABSTRACT: The Bb and A clarinet have been used by professional clarinetists in
any of their orchestral or chamber music activities. Both instruments can be
played with the same mouthpiece and reed, both are chromatic instruments
and have the same range, except by the unique A clarinet lowest semitone.
This work have investigated the real timber differences between the two
instruments from a comparative study based on perception experiments. An
timbre spectrum analysis of notes from both instruments was also
performed. The tests showed us that it was impossible to detect surely
timber differences from the A clarinet to the Bb one and the sound analysis
have demonstrated a big timber similarity between both instruments
