Este distrito tem como característica peculiar um traçado urbano de origem colonial bastante preservado. A hipótese que argumentamos no transcorrer da pesquisa é a de que a atividade maricultora, ao se constituir em um negócio altamente lucrativo (tendo em vista os incentivos do Estado e a colaboração de instituições públicas como UFSC, EPAGRI, etc.) e se inserir na reprodução ampliada do capital, gera impactos negativos sobre a estrutura sócio espacial do Ribeirão da Ilha. Tendo em vista que as relações de produção, que passaram da pesca artesanal para o autoconsumo, como atividade econômica predominante, para a produção de moluscos voltada para o mercado tem provocado transformações na estrutura urbana do distrito. Como instrumento analítico, realizou-se uma pesquisa historiográfica no sentido de buscar informações referentes à formação sócio espacial do distrito Ribeirão da Ilha nos últimos 40 anos. Além disso, realizaram-se pesquisas em órgãos públicos federais, estaduais e municipais que contribuíssem para a elucidação do problema em questão, bem como, foram feitas entrevistas com moradores e maricultores que vivenciaram a introdução deste processo produtivo na área em estudo. <br> / Abstract : This research aims to analyze the impacts of the introduction of mariculture in the structure of the urban district of Ribeirão da Ilha in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina,Brazil. This district is characterized by a peculiar urban plan of colonial originquite intact. The hypothesis that try to argue in the course of the research is thatthe activity maricultora, to be constituted in a highly profitable business (given theincentives of the State and the collaboration of public institutions like the UFSC,EPAGRI, etc..) And insert in reproduction of capital, generates negative impactson the socio-spatial structure of the Ribeirão da Ilha. Considering that the relations of production, which went from fishing for own consumption as main economic activity for the production of shellfish-oriented market has causedchanges in the structure of the urban district. As an analytical tool held a historical research in order to seek information regarding the socio-spatial formation of the district Ribeirão da Ilha in the last 40 years. In addition, we carried out research infederal, state and municipal governments to contribute to the elucidation of the problem as well, interviews were conducted with residents and shellfishermenwho experienced the introduction of this production process in the study area.
