Foi realizado um levantamento locacional da Praça Nereu Ramos, tanto no seu cotidiano como durante o Festival de Dança, destacando os elementos estruturais que definem sua imagem de acordo com a leitura dos objetos arquitetônicos e urbanos da praça e seu entorno, com o objetivo de registrar as alterações dos usos e funções proporcionadas pelo Festival. Através da captação de fotografias do local em estudo no seu cotidiano, antes, durante e depois da realização do evento, entrevistas informais com transeuntes e usuários da Praça Nereu Ramos, expectadores e participantes do Festival de Dança, assim como com funcionários do comércio local, puderam ser apreendidas as informações apresentadas na pesquisa. As transformações urbanas e vivenciais observadas na Praça Nereu Ramos durante o Festival de Dança permitem confirmar que um evento transitório pode interferir no espaço urbano, corroborando ainda com a convicção de que os aspectos modificados, que transformam o cotidiano do lugar onde ocorre, interferem na cultura local, uma vez que quando o evento se finaliza, lembranças guardadas na memória do indivíduo estimulam a mudança de seus hábitos. / The objective of the research is to produce a descriptive and analytic study focused on the physical eviroment of Praça Nereu Ramos, a public space used as an open stage during the Joinville Dance Festival, trying to show the impact that the Festival causes in the city and it gave her a new image: The City of the Dance. It was made a locational survey of Praça Nereu Ramos, as in it's daily basis and during the Festival of Dance, highlighting the structural elements that define it's image according to the knowledge of the urban and architectural objects inside the space and it's surrounding, with the goal of registering the changings of it's usage and function provided by the festival. Through photography shooting and daily study of the space, before, during and after the exhibition of the event, informal interviews with the passers and users of the Praça Nereu Ramos, viewers and participants of the Festival of Dance as well as the employees of the local comerce, enabled the gathering of information here presented. The urban and living transformations observed at Praça Nereu Ramos during the Dance Festival allow us to confirm that a temporary event can interfere with the local culture, because when the event ends, memories saved inside one's memory stimulates the change of habits.
