A dimensão aqui trabalhada é sobre os processos de naturalização e obtenção da cidadania, mecanismos baseados em critérios que procuram garantir um mínimo de comunhão cultural entre o estrangeiro e a nação que o acolhe - definida em termos étnicos, linguísticos, históricos, etc. Nestes casos forja-se um complexo de relações entre direitos - cidadania - identidade - naturalização -, já que os imigrantes devem adotar uma nova identificação nacional para obter posse plena dos seus direitos. Considerando isto, o objetivo geral da dissertação foi tentar identificar se existem processos de constituição de um vínculo identitário, de um laço social entre um indivíduo imigrante e a sociedade aonde ele se insere, como base para compreender porque os indivíduos optam ou não por virar cidadãos do Brasil. No nível empírico a investigação trabalha sobre argentinos no Brasil, circunscrito ao referente escolhido como estudo de caso: imigrantes argentinos radicados em Balneário Canasvieiras, Florianópolis-SC, no ano 2011. Definiu-se como estratégia a triangulação metodológica sequencial, com uma etapa quantitativa e, posteriormente, uma etapa qualitativa, a partir da interação de diversas técnicas. Procurou-se identificar representações sociais, percepções, práticas e valorações destes argentinos, para compreender por que eles optam ou não pela naturalização brasileira. A principal conclusão é que a adoção de uma nacionalidade diferente deriva da definição (inter) subjetiva da identidade destes argentinos. Esta identidade encontra-se condicionada por percepções históricas do país de origem; pelas relações com outros argentinos e brasileiros; por estereótipos e elementos simbólicos que ganham importância nas interações cotidianas.<br> / Abstract : The present work is inserted in the vast field of international migrations, oriented by the political importance that they have progressively acquired and focused at the mechanisms and forms of integration of the immigrants. The dimension that is approached here is about the naturalization processes and citizenship obtainment, mechanisms that are based in criteria that try to guarantee a minimum of cultural communion between the foreigner and the nation that embraces him, defined in ethical, linguistic, historical, and few other terms. In these cases, a complex relation between rights, citizenship, identity and naturalization is forged, as they have to adopt a new national identification in order to obtain complete possession of their rights. Observing that, the general objective of this dissertation was to try and identify if there are processes of constitution of an identity bond # a social linkage between a foreign individual and the society where he inserts himself # using that as the base to comprehend why the immigrants choose (or do not) to became Brazilian citizens. At the empiric level, the research studies Argentinian in Brazil, limited to the referred case study: Argentinian immigrants residing in Balneário Canasvieiras, Florianópolis-SC, in the year 2011. The methodological sequential triangulation was defined as the strategy to be used, with a quantitative phase followed by a qualitative, utilizing the interaction of several techniques. The identification of social representations, perceptions, practices and value judgments of these Argentinians were sought, in order to comprehend why they try or not to obtain the Brazilian naturalization. The main conclusion is that the adoption of a different nationality comes from the (inter) subjective definition of these Argentinian identity. That identity is conditioned by historical perceptions of the country of origin; by relationships with other Brazilians and Argentinians; by stereotypes and symbolical elements that gain importance in daily interactions.
