Afirmar que estas mulheres atuam como embarcadas na pesca artesanal implica dizer que trabalham em embarcações pequenas, entre três e nove metros de comprimento, se deslocando ao mar e retornando à terra diariamente em períodos que oscilam de três a dezesseis horas, dependendo se trabalham com peixes, camarão, siri, berbigão. Diferenças que compõem os saberes-fazeres da denominada pesca artesanal em que as pescadoras se deparam com elementos agentes que interferem diretamente o cotidiano da pesca e a sua relação com o mar, fonte de renda, mas também de fuga e terapia. Por serem mulheres, estas pescadoras se deparam continuamente com o não reconhecimento delas por parte do Estado e de seus técnicos, assim como nas próprias pesquisas acadêmicas e na sociedade de forma ampla. Emergem, no decorrer da tese, questões relacionadas às suas vidas, como o aprendizado e o trabalho, o gosto pela pesca, corpos e corporalidade, a circularidade entre diferentes saberes na relação entre pescadoras e extensão rural. O fulcro da tese diz respeito a questões sobre reconhecimento e (in)visibilidade de mulheres na pesca, observando que em meio aos constantes (a)sujeitamentos, elas vêm se construindo como sujeitos, pescadoras, em que o riso, o bom humor e a jocosidade são táticas de sobrevivência e de duração. <br> / The present thesis is about artisan fishing fisherwomen, who use boats in their craft, in the coast of Santa Catarina, south of Brazil. The proposal was to observe how, where, why, and to what extend these women recognize themselves, and are recognized as fisherwomen, and also how they seek recognition for their rights as fisherwomen. These women work in small vessels, they can be from three to nine meters long. They fish daily, and they can be in the sea from three up to sixteen hours straight. The differences in the hours they fish, in the kind of vessels they use, the kind of fishing they practice and the species of fish gathered, compose the knowledge-doing of the so called artisan fishing. In their daily existence these fisherwomen are confronted with agent elements which interfere directly with their fishing and with their relationship with the sea, which is for them a source of income but also an escape and a therapy. The fact that they are fisherwomen means that they face continuously the struggle for recognition, be that the recognition of the State and its technicians, or the recognition of academic research or even the recognition of society as a whole. The thesis dwells specifically on questions connected with their lives, the process of learning the trade, their love for fishing, bodies and corporalities, and the circularity of knowledge about fishing in the relationship between the fisherwomen and the rural extension. The core of the thesis is related to questions regarding the non recognition and invisibility of the women fishing. In the mist of the constant subjectivation they have been constructing themselves as subjects, as fisherwomen. This is process in which laughter and good mood are tactics of survival and duration.
