Previous issue date: 2014 / Este trabalho trata da sintaxe latina e tem como objetivo demonstrar que o ordenamento dos constituintes na estrutura da gramática do latim clássico não tem total liberdade como afirmam alguns autores. Ao contrário, apresenta restrições que impedem o livre ordenamento dos mesmos, os quais demonstramos por meio de análises de períodos compostos de obras clássicas da língua latina, de temas e autores diferentes. Para realizar essa tarefa, apresentamos as seguintes abordagens: análise sintagmática, com conceitos, classificações e exemplos, demonstrando possibilidades de estruturação sintagmática em latim; a ordem e a descontinuidade dos constituintes na oração latina, demonstrando a ordem básica (regular/direta), a ordem estilística (indireta), algumas tendências de disposição dos constituintes em trechos de obras clássicas latinas e a descontinuidade de constituintes oracionais; os marcadores sintagmáticos, que ligam sintagmas. Com auxílio dessas abordagens, realizamos as análises das orações contidas nos períodos, observando tanto a ordem das palavras dentro dos sintagmas, quanto a ordem dos sintagmas dentro das orações, para conferirmos: qual o tipo de ordem (regular/direta ou indireta/estilística) na qual seus termos foram dispostos; as relações internas dos sintagmas; as tendências de disposição dos constituintes; as descontinuidades dos constituintes; e, consequentemente, as restrições sintáticas que impedem o livre ordenamento dos constituintes na sentença. Com nossas análises, pretendemos confirmar nossa hipótese de que o ordenamento dos constituintes na oração latina não é totalmente livre e apontar restrições sintáticas ao livre ordenamento.<br> / Abstract : This thesis concerns the Latin syntax and aims to demonstrate that the ordering of constituents in the structure of the grammar of classical latin does not have complete freedom, as some experts claim. Rather, it introduces some constraints which impede the free ordering of the constituents and which we demonstrated through analyzes of complex sentences within Latin language classic works, on different themes and by different authors. To accomplish this task, we introduced the following approaches: phrase analysis, providing concepts, classification and examples, demonstrating possibilities of phrases arrangement in Latin; the order and the discontinuity of the sentence constituents in Latin, demonstrating the basic order (regular or direct), the stylistic order (indirect), some trends of constituents arrangement in excerpts from Latin classical works and the discontinuity of the sentence constituents; the phrasal markers, observing how verbal phrases bind together or to the main clause. Supported by these approaches, we performed the analysis of the clauses contained in the sentences, observing both the order of constituents within phrases, as the order of phrases within sentences, in order for us to verify: what type of order (regular/direct or indirect/stylistic) in which the terms were arranged; the internal relations of phrases; the trends of constituents arrangement; the discontinuity of the constituents and therefore the syntactic constraints which impede the free order of the cosntituents in the sentence. Through our analyses, we became able to confirm our hypothesis which states that the ordering of constituents in Latin sentence is not totally free and to identify syntactic constraints to the free ordering.
