Previous issue date: 2015 / Contribuindo na ampliação do conhecimento sobre um território tão rico em símbolos, cultura e de um povo que narra sua resistência, seu trabalho e suas memórias sobre o mar, essa pesquisa pautou-se na possibilidade de investigar o universo dos pescadores tradicionais do Sul da Ilha de Santa Catarina, mais especificadamente da praia da Armação do Pântano do Sul. O objetivo foi levantar através dos mapas mentais as diferentes representações espaciais dos pescadores tradicionais, atendendo a prioridade de também diagnosticar através desses mapas mentais e das entrevistas o saber-fazer tradicional dos pescadores; analisar seus mapas mentais dos pescadores quanto às suas representações espaciais e simbólicas; interpretar através dos mapas mentais os territórios pesqueiros e analisar as transformações socioambientais e culturais nesses territórios. A pesquisa dialogou entre os estudos teóricos que ligam a Geografia Cultural e Humanística à vertente fenomenológica, destacando os conceitos de lugar vivido e das representações espaciais presentes também nos estudos da Geografia da Representações. Também foram utilizadas as histórias orais de vida dos pescadores e das representações espaciais contidas em seus mapas mentais para fazer analises e elaborar os resultados obtidos. Existem territórios marcados não só pelas determinações do Estado, mas territórios que se delimitam informalmente, como é o caso dos pesqueiros, que garante não só a reprodução da pesca, mas que é um lugar de gestão e acordos entre os sujeitos. Percebemos a intenção que cada um tem perante o seu lugar de trabalho. No mar, os territórios se tornam mais do que espaços delimitados, são lugares conhecidos, nomeados, usados e defendidos por seus atores. As representações espaciais dos pescadores por vezes aparecem de maneira pessoal, mas também são expressas através do saber-fazer adquirido na vivência com pescadores antigos. São representações carregadas de simbolismo e pertencimento, registradas através de suas histórias e práticas de pesca que garantem não só visualizar e perceber o seu território, mas também observar o universo cultural impregnado no modo de vida através dos costumes e dinâmicas registradas pelo fazer da pesca artesanal nesta localidade.<br> / Abstract : Contributing to the enlargement of knowledge about a territory rich of symbols, culture and a people who narrates his endurance, his work and his memories of the sea, this research is guided by the possibility of investigating the universe of traditional fishermen from the South of Santa Catarina?s Island, particularly in the Armação do Pântano do Sul?s beach. The aim was to identify through mind maps the different spatial representations of traditional fishermen. Taking the priority of also diagnose through mind maps and interviews the traditional know-how of fishermen; to analyze the fishermen?s mind maps regarding their spatial and symbolic representation; to interpret through mind maps the fishery territory and to analyze social, environmental and cultural transformations in the fishery territory. The research dialogued between the theoretical studies that links the Cultural and Humanistic Geography to the phenomenological side, highlighting the concepts of lived place and of spatial representations that are also present in the Geography of Representations? studies. The research was based on the fishermen?s oral histories of life and spatial representations found in their mind maps to present the results. There are territories marked not only by the State determinations, but also by territories that delimit informally, as in the case of fisheries, which guarantees not only the reproduction of fishing, but also that is a place of management and agreements between subjects. We perceived the intention that each one has in their working place. In the sea, the territories have become more than delimited spaces; they are known places, named, used and defended by their authors. Sometimes the fishermen?s spatial representations appear in a personal way, but also are expressed through the know-how learned in the experiences with former fishermen. They are representations full of symbolism and belongingness recorded through their histories and fishing practices that guarantees not only the visualization and perception their territory but also to watch the cultural universe impregnated in the way of life through dynamics and habits recorded by the artisanal fisheries in that locality.
