Previous issue date: 2016 / A pesquisa teve como proposta geral analisar as caracterÃsticas das citações web de universidades dentro dos websites pertencentes a outras universidades. A amostra intencional da pesquisa compreendeu três universidades federais do sul do Brasil melhor posicionadas no ranking webometrics, uma pertencente a cada estado da região sul, são elas: UFPR, UFRGS e UFSC. O objetivo da pesquisa foi analisar as conexões existentes entre as universidades UFPR, UFRGS e UFSC por meio de citações web em seus websites, e teve como objetivos especÃficos: Desenvolver um instrumento para analisar os tipos de citações web existentes entre as universidades UFPR, UFRGS e UFSC; Realizar a análise webométrica por meio das citações web destas instituições universitárias; e Categorizar as conexões estabelecidas pelas citações web entre as universidades UFPR, UFRGS e UFSC, quanto a sua forma, autoria, posição da citação web no documento, data, caracterÃstica e a área do conhecimento. A fundamentação abordou aspectos relacionados à sociedade da informação, a internet, a web, aos estudos métricos da informação e à webometria. Quanto aos aspectos metodológicos, a pesquisa foi descritiva e exploratória com abordagem de métodos mistos. O resultado apresentou um instrumento que resultou em uma lista de verificação com seis atributos, sendo ela aplicada a seis cenários somando 12 situações, compreendido na estratégia de busca envolvendo os buscadores Google e Bing e as três universidades estudadas. Entre os resultados, observou-se a predominância das citações web entre as instituições pesquisadas em: documentos no formato HTML e PDF; autorias institucionais; localizadas no corpo do texto; datadas entre os anos de 2014 a 2001; em periódicos e eventos cientÃficos; e nas áreas de Ciências Humanas e Ciências Sociais Aplicadas. Conclui que as citações web constituem-se em um campo de estudo a ser explorado na Ciência da Informação, pois mostraram ser representações disponÃveis da realidade registradas de forma natural nas páginas de seus websites, por meio de documentos que registram interações e eventos reais envolvendo as universidades pesquisadas; os resultados sugerem para trabalhos futuros, portanto, que a análise de citações web entre universidades seja mais pesquisada a fim de que possa se constituir em um instrumento de auxÃlio para profissionais de informação e gestores universitários na elaboração de diagnósticos, com vistas a subsidiar processos de monitoramento, análise e de tomada de decisão relacionadas a projetos e ações multi e interinstitucionais.<br> / Abstract : The research had as general purpose to analyze the characteristics of web citations from the universities within the websites belonging to other universities. Intentional research sample consist three federal universities in southern Brazil better positioned in the webometrics ranking, one belonging to each state of the south, they are: UFPR, UFRGS and UFSC. The objective of the research was to analyze the connections between universities UFPR, UFRGS and UFSC through web citations on their websites, and had the specific objectives: : Develop a device for analyzing the type of web citations existing between the universities UFPR, UFRGS and UFSC; Perform webometric analysis in through web citations of this universities; and categorize connectivity established through the web citations between the universities UFPR, UFGS and UFSC, as your form, authorship, position of the web citations in the document, date, characteristic and field of knowledge. The theoretical substantiation approached related to information society, the internet, the web, the metric studies of information and the webometric. As for the methodological aspects, the research was descriptive and exploratory with approach of the mixed methods. The result showed a device which resulted in a checklist of six attributes, it being applied to six scenarios by adding 12 situations, comprised in the search strategy involving Google and Bing search engines and the three universities studied. Among the results, noticed a predominance of web citations between the institutions researched in: documents in HTML and PDF format; institutional authorship; located in the text; dated between the years 2014-2001; in periodicals and scientific events; and in the areas of Humanities and applied Social Sciences. It concludes that the web citations are in a field of study to be explored in the Information Science, which showed be available representations of reality recorded naturally in the pages of their websites, through the documents that record interactions and actual events involving the researched universities; the results suggest for future work, therefore, that the web citations analysis between universities is most researched so that may constitute in a support device for a professional information and university managers in the elaboration of diagnostics in order to support monitoring, analysis and decision-making related to multi and inter-institutional projects and actions.
