Foi desenvolvido, no período entre 2002 e 2005 compreendendo a análise do período de 1990 a 2005, numa organização do ramo metal-mecânico, líder mundial na fabricação de compressores herméticos para refrigeração. Apresentam-se as mudanças estratégicas ocorridas neste período em que a organização passou por uma fase de transição de fabricante para montadora de compressores. O resultado e a contribuição para o avanço científico estão na comparação entre teoria e prática, ou seja, o que a literatura prevê sobre práticas de terceirização e qualificação de fornecedores e o que uma organização de classe mundial pratica. A metodologia utilizada é de um estudo de caso singular, dentro das características das abordagens qualitativa e contextualista, que se utilizam do modo de análise longitudinal e histórico. Isto permitiu que trouxesse contribuições para o entendimento da teoria da terceirização e da qualificação de fornecedores ao estudar a dinâmica deste processo. As inferências teóricas constatadas, comparadas com outras realizadas, trazem também contribuições sobre este tema. A análise sobre uma perspectiva humanista, histórica, contextual e processual foi de extrema relevância para a compreensão da passagem da organização de produção tradicional para montadora.
This work presents an analysis on outsourcing and on the qualification of suppliers in the scope of the administration of the logistic chain. It was developed, in the period between 2002 and 2005 analysing the period from 1990 the 2005. An organization in the field of metal-mechanics, world-wide leader in the manufacture of hermetic compressors for refrigeration was taken. The strategical changes which took place in this period are presented while the organization forgoes through a phase of transistion from manufacturer to assembly plant of compressors. The result and the contribution for the scientific advance are in the comparison between practice and theory, or in other words, between what literature foresees on the practice of outsourcing and qualification of suppliers and what an world-wide organization of brings to real practice. The methodology applied is the study of a particular case, from the qualitative and contextualistic approaches inside the longitudinal and historical analysis. This way, it brought contributions for broader understanding of the outsourcing the theory and on the qualification of suppliers when studying the dynamics of this process. The evidenced theoretical inferences, compared to others carried out, also bring contributions on the subject. The analysis on a humanist, historical, contextual and procedural perspective was of extreme relevance for the understanding of the shifting of the organization from traditional production to assembly plant.
