242761.pdf: 9211856 bytes, checksum: c2e932c1dfcc8fd2b00947273aa4b672 (MD5) / A presente dissertação de mestrado possui o objetivo de analisar o processo de gênese e estruturação da bananicultura no município catarinense de Jacinto Machado sob dois vieses: primeiro, salientando a importância daquela atividade na formação sócio-espacial e nas estratégias produtivas da agricultura familiar local, e, segundo, resgatando a sua construção histórica enquanto cadeia produtiva no ambiente social e técnico das transformações recentes do sistema agroalimentar nacional. A questão principal consistiu em atrelar estes dois vieses para a construção um diagnóstico do desenvolvimento da bananicultura naquele município ao longo dos últimos cinqüenta anos. Simultaneamente buscamos entender as bases de sustentação da atividade e, então caracterizar socialmente as práticas produtivas sob tipologias que nos pareceram elementares, ressaltando fatores tais como a capacidade de resposta tecnológica, a utilização de recursos creditícios, a escolha dos cultivares e a inserção do produtor no mercado. Como um estudo de Geografia, verificamos a necessidade de realizarmos uma abordagem qualitativa, onde a teoria e os dados empíricos obtidos nas entrevista e questionários estivessem unidos em um discurso crítico com a premissa fundamental de fomentar ações de melhoria para o grupo social dos bananicultores. No decorrer deste trabalho constatamos a condição de marginalidade enfrentada pelos produtores e as dificuldades dos mesmos de se reproduzir socialmente na contemporaneidade da evolução das circunstâncias técnicas e ambientais.
The present work aims to analyze the process of genesis and evolution of the banana crops in the brazilian city of Jacinto Machado under two aspects: the first one, detaching the importance of that activity in the socio-spatial configuration, attempting on the productive strategies of the local peasant (familiar) agriculture, and the second one, rescuing the historical construction as a productive chain in the social environmental of the agrifood system latest transformation. The main issue consisted in leash these two points of view toward the construction of a diagnosis concerning the development of the banana crop in that municipally district along the last fifty years. Simultaneously, we tried to understand its foundation and then, characterize, socially, the productive practices under typologies that appear us as elementary factors, such as, the capacity of technological answering, the use of credit resources, the cultivar chose and the insertion of the farmer in the market. As a geographical study, we verified the need to proceed a qualitative approach where the theory and the empirical data obtained in interviews and questionnaires has been merged on a critical speech with a fundamental premise of fomenting actions to increasing life conditions to the banana farmers social group. In the arise of this work we attested the condition of marginality faced by the producers and theirs difficulties of reproducing in the contemporary evolution of the technical and environmental circumstances.
