Entende-se que o marxismo ao trazer os elementos de análise do modo de produção capitalista também oferece os subsídios fundamentais para situar criticamente a problemática ambiental no capitalismo contemporâneo. O estudo se justifica, pois, nas últimas décadas, sobretudo a partir de 2000, entre os espaços interventivos para o Assistente Social tem se destacado o aumento no atendimento às demandas socioambientais. Em relação ao tratamento teórico dado à temática ambiental pelo Serviço Social pode ser considerado incipiente. Quanto à metodologia utilizada trata-se de um estudo bibliográfico e documental, com base em leituras acerca da temática em livros, revistas, artigos científicos, publicações em eventos, além de levantamentos sobre as produções (teses e dissertações) que se vinculam à temática ambiental nos Programas de Pós-Graduação em Serviço Social. O estudo está organizado em três capítulos. No primeiro capítulo situa-se a
discussão da temática ambiental no modo de produção capitalista, trazendo aspectos conceituais e constitutivos da temática ambiental, além dos aspectos históricos, legais e políticos no processo de construção da Política Ambiental no Brasil. A discussão pauta-se em Loureiro (2004; 2007), Layrargues (1997), Sachs (2007), Netto e Braz (2009), entre outros. No segundo capítulo, compreende-se a análise marxista da temática ambiental a partir de John Bellamy Foster (2005) com uma releitura do pensamento ecológico de Marx e de Michael Löwy (2005) refletindo sobre a revisão crítica das forças produtivas. Insere-se no debate o autor mexicano Enrique Leff (2006), afirmando a necessidade de superação da racionalidade capitalista e a construção de uma racionalidade ambiental. No terceiro capítulo situa-se as aproximações entre Serviço Social e meio ambiente, a partir das suas produções teóricas (teses e dissertações). Os levantamentos realizados foram sistematizados em tabelas demonstrando o panorama atual das aproximações entre Serviço Social e Meio Ambiente. Em seguida apontam-se reflexões, avanços e limites na fundamentação teórica da temática ambiental pelo Serviço Social, a partir dos fundamentos da análise marxista sobre o meio ambiente. / This Dissertation makes a critical thinking concerning the Environmental Thematic with the objective to situate the basis of the Marxist analysis on the Environment and its relationship with Social Work. It is understood that while Marxism had brought the elements of analysis of the capitalist mode of production, it also offers the fundamental subsidies to critically place the environmental problematical in contemporary capitalism. The study, thus, is justified in recent decades, mainly since the year 2000, between the areas of intervention for the Social Work Assistant, which has detached a
heeding growth to socioenvironmental demands. In relation to the theoretical treatment given to the Environmental Thematic by the Social Work, it may be considered incipient. Regarding the used methodology, it is a bibliographic and documentary study, based upon reading, concerning the Thematic in books, magazines, scientific papers, publications in events, besides surveys on productions (Theses and Dissertations) which are linked to the Environmental Thematic within the Post-Graduaton Programs in Social Work. The study is organized into three chapters. The first chapter situates the Environmental Thematic discussion into the capitalist mode of production, bringing conceptual and constitutive aspects of the Environmental Thematic, besides the historical aspects, legal and political in the building process of the Environmental Policy in Brazil. The discussion is methodized in Loureiro (2004, 2007), Layrargues (1997), Sachs (2007), Netto and Braz (2009), amongst others. The second chapter comprises the Marxist analysis of the Environmental Thematic from John Bellamy Foster
(2005) with a re-reading of ecological thinking in Marx and Michael Löwy (2005) reflecting on the critical reappraisal of the productive forces. The mexican author Enrique Leff (2006) is interpolated into the debate, affirming the need to overcome capitalist rationality and the construction of an environmental rationality. In the third chapter, it is situated the approaches between Social Work and the Environment, from its theoretical productions (Theses and Dissertations). The surveys achieved were sistematized in tables showing the current panorama of approaches between Social Work and the Environment. Moveover, it is mentioned thinkings, advances and limits in the theoretical fundamentals of the Environmental Thematic in Social Work, from the Marxist analysis groundwork on the Environment.
