Nosso objetivo visou analisar se ao longo do período de 2004 a 2008 o #AN Escola# abordou temas da educação física/cultura corporal e quais os enfoques dados a estes, especialmente ao esporte. Conceitualmente, fundamentamos o estudo a partir da Mídia-Educação, acrescida aqui do termo (Física), para situá-lo no campo específico. Na revisão da literatura, identificamos vários estudos referentes aos usos de jornal em sala de aula. As contribuições da #sociologia crítica do esporte# fundamentaram nossas análises sobre esse que é o principal conteúdo da cultura corporal tematizado na EF escolar. A análise de conteúdo forneceu as bases teórico-metodológicas para a interpretação dos dados observados, considerando as perspectivas da forma - aspectos gráficos e estruturais do encarte - e do conteúdo # envolvendo dois movimentos: a) categorização e distribuição quantitativa das matérias; e b) análise das dimensões/concepções de esporte veiculadas no encarte. Identificamos 1145 matérias no período, classificadas em 11 categorias, a saber: esportes; temas transversais; lazer; corpo/identidade; jogos/brincadeiras; estética; saúde; circo; dança;lutas e outros. Esporte teve a maior presença no encarte, sendo a categoria analisada no que se refere às seguintes dimensões/concepções: Espetáculo/rendimento; personagens; nacionalismo; saúde; socialização e inclusão social/cidadania. Nossas considerações finais apontam o #AN Escola# como uma possibilidade de mídia-educação, embora deixe muito a desejar, principalmente no que se refere a dimensão crítica do conceito. Destacamos também a necessidade e a possibilidade dos professores de educação física qualificarem suas aulas utilizando o jornal, para possibilitar novos olhares e práticas sobre o fenômeno esportivo e o universo midiático. / The way the print media conveys the themes of body culture caught our attention, especially when we look at programs for school newspaper, as the AN School Program, booklet of the journal The News (Joinville / SC). Our purpose was to analyze over the period 2004 to 2008, if the "School AN" addressed issues of the Physical Education / body culture and what were the approaches to these data, especially the sport. Conceptually, we founded this study from the Media Education, plus here to the term (Physical), to situate it in the specific field. In the literature review, we identified several studies concerning the use of newspaper in the classroom. The contributions of "critical sociology of sport," justifying our analysis of the sport, which is the main content of body culture conceived in EF school. The content analysis provided the theoretical and methodological bases for the interpretation of the observed data, considering the perspectives of form - graphic and structural aspects of the booklet - and content - involving two stages: a) categorization and quantitative distribution of materials, and b) analysis dimensions / concepts of sports broadcasted in the booklet. We identified 1145 subjects (written by students, teachers / experts and drafting of the insert) in the period, classified into 11 categories, which we named: sports, transversal themes, leisure, body / identity; games / plays, health, circus; dance, and others. Sport has greater presence in the booklet, especially in the years 2004 and 2008 (great sporting events) being considered in the category that refers to the following dimensions / concepts: entertainment / performance, characters, nationalism, health, socialization and social inclusion / citizenship. Our conclusions point to #AN School# as a possibility of media education, but let much to be desired, especially as regards the critical dimension of the concept. We also highlight the need and possibility of Physical Education teachers qualifies their lessons using the newspaper, to provide the students new views and practices on the phenomenon of sports and media universe.
