Previous issue date: 2007-09-04 / Enquanto Poder Público o Senado encontra sua legitimação nas relações que estabelece com a sociedade. Para a materialização dessa convivência são utilizados canais de comunicação que se transformaram ao longo do tempo, e tornaram-se símbolos do momento social e político em que foram adotados. A presente pesquisa investiga essas mudanças tomando como marco de referência os meios empregados, desde as primeiras utilizações da escrita até o aparecimento da Internet e seu uso pelas agências de notícias governamentais. A história do uso político desses meios e as relações do homem com a técnica, bem como a questão da democratização da informação, também está contemplada. Para ilustrar essa relação, o trabalho elege, para estudo de caso, a Agência Senado de notícias, situando na história seu surgimento e do sistema de comunicação em que a mesma se insere, avançando para a atualidade, no sentido de analisar o cenário a partir do qual os temas se articulam. _______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / While public power, the senate finds its legitimation in the relationship it establishes with the society. For the materialization of this coexistence, the employed channels of communication transformed themselves along the time, and became symbols of the social and politic moment when they have been adopted. The present research investigates this change taking as landmark the employed mediums, since the first uses of writing until the appearing of Internet and its use by the governmental agencies. The history of the politic use of these mediums and the relationship between man and technique, as well as the question of democratization of information are also contemplated. To illustrate this relationship this research choose, for a study of case, the “Senate news Agency” (Agência Senado), locating its birth in the History, and so the birth of the communication system where it is inserted, until the present time, in order of analyzing the scenery from where the themes are articulated.
