Previous issue date: 2006-04 / A degradação ambiental, originária do modelo de civilização que a humanidade adotou, constitui-se em um dos mais graves problemas da civilização moderna e, o setor agropecuário está sendo considerado, um dos principais fatores dessa degradação. Nesse contexto, o presente trabalho pretende dar uma contribuição ao debate sobre modelos sustentáveis de produção agropecuária no âmbito da bacia hidrográfica do ribeirão Pipiripau. Essa bacia está inserida no Distrito Federal e no estado de Goiás e, a atividade predominante no âmbito da bacia é a agricultura, especificamente, no segmento da agricultura familiar. Pesquisas feitas nessa área revelam que, o modelo de exploração adotado nessa localidade não é sustentável do ponto de vista ambiental, nesse sentido, procurou-se analisar o modelo dominante e discutir formas alternativas de exploração agropecuária de caráter mais sustentável, que podem ser adotadas na localidade. Em um primeiro momento, há uma abordagem geral sobre o problema a ser estudado, os objetivos e hipótese proposta, bem como, qual é a relevância dessa pesquisa no contexto do desenvolvimento sustentável. Em um segundo momento a pesquisa traz uma abordagem conceitual sobre os temas recursos hídricos, agricultura e sustentabilidade, relacionando-os com o objeto da pesquisa. Em seguida é apresentada a contextualização física e socioeconômica da bacia, onde também, é feita uma breve discussão sobre os problemas oriundos da expansão urbana da cidade Planaltina. Procurou-se, também, fazer um diagnóstico sobre cada um dos núcleos rurais que estão inseridos no âmbito dessa bacia e uma breve discussão sobre um dos modelos alternativos de produção, que pode ser adotado naquela localidade. Contemplaram-se, também, algumas considerações sobre a participação social, uma vez que, essa ferramenta é de suma importância na busca de novos caminhos a serem trilhados por esse novo paradigma de desenvolvimento socioeconômico e por fim, é apresentada a análise da pesquisa de campo, assim como, as conclusões levantadas e as sugestões oferecidas, na busca da sustentabilidade da bacia hidrográfica do ribeirão Pipiripau. ________________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT / The environment degradation, original of the civilization model that the humanity adopted, consists in one of the most serious problems of the modern civilization and the farming sector is being considered one of the main factors of this problem. In this context, the present work intends to offer a contribution to the debate on sustainable models of agricultural production in the scope of the Pipiripau brook and his hydrographic basin. This basin is inserted in Distrito Federal and in the state off Goias whil the major activity in the basin is agriculture, specifically in the familiar segment. Researches made in this area reveal that the model of exploration adopted in this locality is not sustainable fron the ambient point of view. In this direction, it was aimed to investigate the leading model and to argue alternative forms of agricultural exploration of more sustainable character, which can be adopted in the region. At a first moment, it has a general boarding on the problem to be investigated , the objectives and hypothesis proposed, as well as the significance of this research in the perspective of the sustainable development. After that, the research brings a conceptual boarding on the subjects “hydric resources”, “agriculture” and “sustainability”, relating them with the aim of the research. After that, the physical and socioeconomic setting of the basin is offered, as well as one soon information interchange on the problems about the urban expansion of the Planaltina city. It was also looked to a diagnosis on each of the agricultural nuclei of this basin and a brief discussion on one of the alternative models of production that can be adopted in that area. There had been also a look on the social sharing once this tool is of highest meaning in the search of new ways to be trod for this new paradigm of socioeconomic progress. And finally, the study of the field research is presented as well as the raised conclusions and the suggestions offered in the search of sustainability of the hydrographic basin of the Pipiripau brook.
