Previous issue date: 1990 / Resumo: Com a finalidade de analisar a possível interferência da papaína nos processos de regeneração hepática nos utilizamos de 11 ratos (rattus norvegicus albinus, Wistar), os quais foram submetidos à hepatectomia parcial. Os animais foram divididos em dois grupos. Um grupo controle (C) composto por 5 animais e, um grupo tratado (P) composto por 6 Animais, que receberam I.P. 2 mg de papaína/dia, durante 15 dias. Dos 11 animais foram colhidas amostras de sangue nos intervalos zero; 2º; 10º e 15º dia de experimento para dosagem de TGO e TGP no soro. Ao final do 15º dia de experimento os animais foram sacrificados e comparadas às variáveis peso dos animais, relação peso seco/peso úmido dos lóbulos hepáticos, porcentagem de proteína nos lóbulos hepáticos e dosagem de TGO e TGP no soro e nos lóbulos hepáticos. Com base nos resultados obtidos pudemos concluir que não houve diferença significante estatisticamente no valor das proteínas totais no fígado, ocorreu um aumento no valor de TGO no soro do sangue dos animais do grupo (P) no 2º dia de experimento e os animais do grupo (P) apresentaram perda de peso corporal / Abstract: The author hepatectomized parcially 11 rats (rattus norvegicus albinus, wistar) with the goal of analising the possible interference of papain in the hepatic healing process. The animaIs were divided in two groups. A control group (C) with 5 animaIs, and another one (P) with 6 animaIs treated with I.P. 2 mg of papain per day along 15 days. The author collected from the 11 animaIs, samples of blood, on the day of the surgery and on the second, tenth, and fifteenth day after the surgery, due to analise the and GTO and GTP dosage. At the end of the fifteenth day after surgery animaIs were sacrificed and the author compared the weight of the animaIs, the mesures of protein in the hepatic lobes, and the concentration of GTO and GTP in both, blood serum and hepatic lobes. Based on these results, the author realized there is no statistic diferences in the concentration of protein in liver, ocurred a increase of GTO 's value in the blood serum of animaIs from the group (p) on the second day of experience, and that the animaIs from the group (p) showed a decrease of body weight / Mestrado / Farmacologia / Mestre em Ciências
