Previous issue date: 2008 / Resumo: A avaliação da qualidade de vida tem sido cada vez mais utilizada na área da saúde e tornou-se uma ferramenta de mensuração desde que foi considerada medida válida e reprodutível. Uma das formas mais empregadas de avaliação são os questionários. A grande maioria dos instrumentos foi formulada na língua inglesa mas, em virtude do crescente número de ensaios clínicos multicêntricos, surgiu a necessidade de desenvolver medidas para utilização em outros idiomas. Também não basta que o instrumento seja simplesmente traduzido, é necessário realizar, além da tradução e da adaptação transcultural, a avaliação de suas propriedades de medida. Tendência atual propõe a utilização de instrumentos validados em oposição ao desenvolvimento de novas escalas. O crescente interesse pelo estudo da sexualidade encontra como obstáculo, além da dificuldade de avaliar os diferentes aspectos da resposta sexual, grande diversidade de métodos, o que dificulta a generalização de informações e compromete as propostas de tratamento. O intuito desse trabalho foi realizar a validação de um questionário para avaliar a resposta sexual feminina de mulheres e desse processo resultou um artigo científico. A escolha do instrumento considerou a literatura científica até junho de 2006 e até essa data não havia registro de instrumento específico e validado na Língua Portuguesa para avaliar a resposta sexual na mulher. O ¿Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI)¿ foi escolhido porque é questionário breve e multidimensional que avalia a resposta sexual feminina, considerando seus domínios. O questionário original foi traduzido para Língua Portuguesa por dois tradutores brasileiros, retrovertido por dois tradutores nativos na língua inglesa. As diferenças foram harmonizadas por profissionais da saúde bilíngües e a versão originada foi pré-testada. A versão final em português (do Brasil) foi aplicada em 100 mulheres, juntamente com um questionário de avaliação da qualidade de vida SF-36. A mediana de idade foi de 21 anos (variou de 19 a 69 anos). Foram testadas propriedades psicométricas: confiabilidade [consistência interna (Alfa de Cronbach), re-teste (Coeficiente de Correlação Intraclasses)], validade de constructo (Coeficiente de Correlação de Pearson) e concorrente (Mann-Whitney e Kruskal-Wallis). Após quatro semanas da primeira entrevista, foi realizado o re-teste (FSFI). O Alfa de Cronbach geral foi 0,96 e a confiabilidade foi 1,00. Dados finais mostraram que a versão do FSFI em Português é válida para avaliação da resposta sexual em mulheres brasileiras e está indicado para uso em pesquisas clínicas / Abstract: The evaluation of the quality of life (QoL) has been increased in use in the Health area and has become a measurement tool since it was considered as a valuable and reproducible measure. One of the most used ways of evaluation is the questionnaire. The majority of the instruments were questioned in the English language but considering the multicentrics clinical essays, it emerged the need of developing measures of usage in other languages. It is not enough that the instrument would be simply translated, it is necessary to adequate the evaluation of the properties of the measurement, besides the translation and the transcultural adaptations implied. The actual trend proposes the usage of instruments validated in contrast of the development of new scales. The increased interest in the study of sexuality is seen as an obstacle, not mentioning the difficulty in evaluate the different aspects of the sexual response, big diversity of methods that come as a complexity of the generalization of information and endangers the proposals of the treatment. The aim of this work is to achieve the validation of a questionnaire to evaluate the female sexual response of women and, from this process it comes out a scientific article. The choice of the instrument considered the scientific literature until June 2006 and, until this present date, there was no register of a specified instrument and validated in Portuguese language to evaluate the sexual response in women. The ¿Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI)¿ was chosen because it is a brief and multidimensional questionnaire that evaluates the female sexual response, considering its domains. The original questionnaire was translated to Portuguese language by two Brazilian translators, retroverted by two English translators. Health bilingual professionals harmonized the differences and the original version was pre-tested. The final version in Portuguese (from Brazil) was applied in a hundred women, as well as the evaluation questionnaire of life quality SF-36. The age average was 21 years old (it varied from 19 to 69). It was also tested psychometrical properties: reliability [internal consistency (Alpha of Cronbach), re-test (Interclass Correlation Coefficient)], validation of constructo (Pearson Correlation Coefficient), and competence (Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis). After four weeks of the first interview, the re-test was re-applied (FSFI). The general Alpha of Cronbach was 0,96 and the reliability was 1,00. Final datas showed that the version of FSFI in Portuguese is valid for the evaluation of sexual response in Brazilian women and it is certainly indicated to the use in clinical researches / Doutorado / Pesquisa Experimental / Doutor em Cirurgia
