Previous issue date: 2016-12-16 / The research presents the case of the building of the Normal
School, located in the city of Lages, in the state of Santa
Catarina. The intention is to discuss the existence of conflicts
of interest between different social groups arising from the
presence of this school in the city space. To do this, the text
structure mobilizes the notion of heritage, considering it as a
category endowed with historicity, which changes over time, to
then go through the political and social dimensions of
production assets, as well as the ways diverse as the groups
vying for use of the building, give way to the protection,
preservation of school property and the memory of education
in the city of Lages. From reading various sources such as
newspapers, crafts, the set of texts of civil action, intervention
opinions on urban buildings and virtual sources provided by
social media like blogs, Facebook, websites, among others, the
emergence stands out from one conflicting representations of
field on the presence of the school building between the
various groups and individuals, in some cases share a same
space of sociability. This field expresses conflict, therefore, the
struggle of these groups the power to decide on the selection of
cultural property to be preserved. The problems experienced by
the building of this school in the city of Lages arises as an issue
to be scaled by the field of the history of Brazilian education at
its interface with the school property, since it is urgent to bring
to discussions about what should be preserved and who is
responsible for doing it. The time frame is between the years
2015 to 1933. What is proposed with this temporal delimitation
is not building a reverse history, but an approach to the new
mediation needs with the past. Mediations those that resonate
in the thesis title of the structure: lenses in the present (2015)
and shifts to the past (1933). This time is the period in which
disputes the destination and use of this building won pressing
senses and put this school space in explicit relation to time, a
time that is still uncertain for the building because the impasse
about their preservation or demolition includes a series of
decisions not taken by public policies. Inserted in the research
line History and Historiography of PPGE-UDESC Education,
research that resulted this thesis sought to understand how they
are seized representations about the building of the normal
school and disputes about their heritage conformation.
Considering the thematic and chronological cuts, the thesis
seeks to mobilize the theoretical and methodological
contributions of History of Education, Cultural Heritage,
Memory and History of Present Time. / A pesquisa apresenta o caso do prédio da escola normal, localizado na cidade de Lages, interior do Estado de Santa Catarina. O objetivo é problematizar a existência de conflitos de interesses entre os diferentes grupos sociais decorrentes da presença desta escola no espaço citadino. Para tal, a estrutura do texto mobiliza a noção de patrimônio, considerando-o como categoria dotada de historicidade, que se altera ao longo do tempo, para, em seguida, percorrer a dimensão política e social da produção do patrimônio, bem como os modos distintos como os grupos, que disputam o uso do prédio, atribuem sentidos à proteção, à preservação do patrimônio escolar e à memória da educação na cidade de Lages. A partir da leitura de fontes variadas, como jornais, ofícios, o conjunto de textos da Ação Civil, pareceres de intervenção em edificações urbanas e fontes virtuais, disponibilizadas em mídias sociais como blogs, Facebook, sites, entre outras, destaca-se a emergência de um campo de conflito de representações acerca da presença do edifício desta escola entre os diferentes grupos e indivíduos que, em alguns casos, partilham um mesmo espaço de sociabilidades. Tal campo de conflito expressa, portanto, a luta desses grupos pelo poder em decidir sobre a seleção dos bens culturais a serem preservados. A problemática vivenciada pelo prédio desta escola na cidade de Lages coloca-se como uma questão a ser dimensionada pelo campo da história da educação brasileira em sua interface com o patrimônio escolar, uma vez que urge trazer para as discussões sobre o que deve ser preservado e a quem compete fazê-lo. O recorte temporal situa-se entre os anos de 2015 a 1933. O que se propõe, com essa delimitação temporal, não é a construção de uma história reversa, mas uma aproximação com as novas necessidades de mediação com o passado. Mediações essas que ressoam na estruturação do título da tese: lentes no presente (2015) e
deslocamentos ao passado (1933). O tempo presente é o período em que as disputas pelo destino e uso desta edificação ganharam sentidos prementes e colocam este espaço escolar numa relação explicita ao tempo, um tempo que ainda é incerto para o prédio, pois o impasse acerca da sua preservação ou demolição contempla uma série de decisões ainda não tomadas pelas políticas públicas. Inserida na linha de pesquisa História e Historiografia da Educação do PPGE-UDESC, a pesquisa que resultou nesta tese buscou compreender como são apreendidas as representações sobre o prédio da escola normal e das disputas acerca da sua conformação patrimonial. Considerados os recortes temático e cronológico, a tese procura mobilizar as contribuições teórico-metodológicas da História da Educação, do Patrimônio Cultural, da Memória e da História do Tempo Presente.
