Previous issue date: 2015-09-10 / This dissertation is born from the research desire about
stage presence and their relationship with the
construction of temporal perception, inquiring the
possibility of manipulation the structuring mechanisms of
such perception for creating an environment propitious to
the emergence of stage presence. Through literature
review, it presents a historical evolution of how the
concept of time has come to form as we grasp it today,
from a cyclical to a linear model and the resulting shifts
brought by such change; also shows how the temporal
notion was transformed with the advent of relativistic
physics and its consequences in our everyday life. Still in
time, it displays an overview of how it is understood by
some theatrical researchers, justifying the choice of this
parameter as central in this research by postulating that
the stage presence phenomena incur changes in time
perception, causing its contraction or expansion. Entering
the scope of stage presence, presents an outline that
seeks to help unravel the mysterious vision we often
encounter about this phenomenon and, tracing possible
links with different concepts such as épochè, experience
and flow, asks potential ways of understanding the
mechanisms of producing stage presence and how we
could use them in a theatrical event. Finishing by
showing an indication to the future establishment of the
concept of suspension, concludes the work with the
understanding of the central role that the artist-audience
relation will occupy in stage presence and the perception
of the impossibility of control in this relationship and its
occurrence; ending by presenting the envisioned ways to
follow up this research. / Essa dissertação nasce da vontade de pesquisa acerca
dos fenômenos de presença cênica e sua relação com a
construção da percepção temporal, inquirindo a
possibilidade de manuseamento dos mecanismos de
estruturação de tal percepção para a criação de um
ambiente propício ao surgimento da presença. Através
de pesquisa bibliográfica, apresenta uma evolução
histórica de como o conceito de tempo veio a se formar
tal como o apreendemos hoje, passando de um modelo
cíclico à um modelo linear a os consequentes
deslocamentos trazidos por tal mudança; apresenta
também como a noção temporal foi transformada com o
advento da Física Relativística e seus desdobramentos à
nossa vida cotidiana. Ainda no tempo, exibe um
panorama de como este é entendido por alguns
pensadores teatrais, justificando a escolha desse
parâmetro como tema central da pesquisa ao postular
que fenômenos de presença incorrem em alteração da
percepção temporal, provocando sua contração ou
expansão. Ao entrar no âmbito da presença, apresenta
um esboço que busca ajudar a desvendar a visão
misteriosa que muitas vezes encontramos acerca desse
fenômeno e, ao traçar possíveis relações com conceitos
diversos como épochè, experiência e fluxo, questiona
prováveis encaminhamentos para entender os
mecanismos de produção de presença e como
poderíamos nos utilizar dos mesmos em um evento
teatral. Terminando por apresentar uma indicação à
construção futura do conceito de suspensão, conclui o
trabalho com o entendimento do papel central que a
relação artista-público ocupará nos fenômenos de
presença e a percepção da impossibilidade de controle
dessa relação e sua ocorrência; finalizando por
apresentar os caminhos vislumbrados para o seguimento
dessa pesquisa.
