Previous issue date: 2017-07-07 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The screen survey aims to problematize the presence of Muslim Arab immigrants in the socioeconomic context of the border of the city of Guaíra, western Paraná. The border environment is notable for the remaining growth of the commercial sector, mainly stimulated for activities in the border area. In recent years several Muslim Arab families of various contries in the Middle East settled in the border in order to market of Paraguay. That residence initially fixed in the city of Foz do Iguaçu. In recent years there has been a secondary displacement of immigrants from Ciudad Del Este to the city of Guaíra. The possibilities for trade at the border have motivated the mobility of migrant groups. The research sought to understand the practices, representations and meanings that were built on the arrival process of immigrants. To remove the analysis, the research still proposed to contextualize the Arab culture and the immigration of these people to Brazil, in particular, the flow directed to the city of Guaíra. The interviews indicated specificities of the Arab ethnic group in Guaíra-PR, as possibilities to analyze the influence of the Arab immigration to the municipality. / A pesquisa em tela tem por objetivo problematizar a presença dos imigrantes árabes muçulmanos no contexto socioeconômico da fronteira da cidade de Guaíra, no Oeste do Paraná. O ambiente de fronteira destaca-se pelo remanescente crescimento do setor comercial, estimulado principalmente pelas atividades em faixa de fronteira. Em anos recentes se instalaram na fronteira diversas famílias árabes muçulmanas vindas de vários países do Oriente Médio, com o intuito de comercializar a partir do Paraguai. Estas, inicialmente fixaram-se na cidade de Foz do Iguaçu-PR, nas décadas posteriores a 1950, motivados pela tradição do comércio em Ciudad Del Este-PY. Nos últimos anos, ocorreu um deslocamento secundário dos imigrantes da Ciudad Del Este para a cidade de Guaíra-PR. As possibilidades de comércio na fronteira motivam a mobilidade dos grupos de migrantes. A pesquisa procurou compreender as práticas, as representações e os significados construídos acerca do processo de chegada dos imigrantes.Para aprofundar a análise, a investigação ainda se propôs a contextualizar a cultura árabe e a imigração desse povo para o Brasil, em especial, o fluxo orientado para a cidade de Guaíra-PR. As entrevistas indicam especificidades da etnicidade árabe em Guaíra, assim como possibilidades de analisar a contribuição decorrente da imigração árabe para o município.
