Previous issue date: 2016-06-29 / Conselho Nacional de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento Cient?fico e Tecnol?gico - CNPq / The thesis aims to a critical analysis of female-headed single parenthood, seeking to highlight the interrelationship between the context and the process of structuring single parent families in micro and macro-environments. Objective: The goal of the study is to understand, from an ecological-systemic aproach and gender studies perspective, how female-headed single parent families function. This is done through the perspective of females head of household and of family therapists. Methods: To do so, the thesis examines three studies, one theoretical and two using a qualitative aproach and an exploratory and descriptive research design. Study 1 consists of a systematic review of the literature, which mapped a number of studies of female ?headed single parent families in the context of Latin America. Study 2, in turn, investigated the perceptions of 10 single-mothers and head of household women from a micro and macro-social perspective. Study 3 examined the perceptions of 5 family therapists regarding single motherhood and assessed the impact of gender studies in their training. Results: There has been a synchrony of results in several respects between theoretical studies and discourses of women and therapists interviewed. Changes and maintenance of values and divergences and convergences of ideas have been identified in the mapping research designs, in social practices described and data discurses analyzed.Conclusion: The study found that there is a shortage of studies on female-headed single parent families in Latin America. Also feminist family therapy can play an important role in the insertion of gender studies in psychology. In addition, it was observed in the narratives of women and therapists an effort to break away from gender stereotypes and with the ideal of a nuclear family; however, there is still a high sensitivity to the patriarchal family model. / A presente tese se prop?e a fazer uma an?lise cr?tica da monoparentalidade feminina, procurando destacar a inter-rela??o entre o contexto e o processo de estrutura??o dessas fam?lias no ambiente micro e macrossocial. Objetivo: compreender, a partir da perspectiva ecol?gico-sist?mica e dos estudos de g?nero, como se d? o funcionamento das fam?lias monoparentais femininas, desde a ?tica de mulheres chefes de fam?lia e de terapeutas familiares. M?todo: Foram realizados tr?s estudos, sendo um te?rico e dois com enfoque qualitativo e delineamento explorat?rio-descritivo. O Estudo 1 trata-se de uma revis?o sistem?tica que mapeou estudos acerca da monoparentalidade feminina no contexto da Am?rica Latina. O Estudo 2 investigou a percep??o de 10 mulheres chefes de fam?lia sobre monoparentalidade feminina desde uma perspectiva micro e macrossocial. O Estudo 3 investigou a percep??o de 5 terapeutas de fam?lia acerca da monoparentalidade feminina e avaliou o impacto dos estudos de g?nero em sua forma??o profissional. Resultados: Observa-se uma sincronia de resultados entre os estudos te?ricos e os discursos das mulheres e terapeutas entrevistadas em diversos aspectos. Mudan?as e perman?ncias de valores e diverg?ncias e converg?ncias de ideias foram identificadas nos desenhos de pesquisas mapeados, nas pr?ticas sociais descritas e nos discursos analisados. Considera??es finais: Constatou-se uma defasagem de estudos sobre a tem?tica no contexto da Am?rica Latina e um importante papel da Terapia Familiar feminista para a inser??o dos estudos de g?nero na Psicologia. Observou-se nos discursos das mulheres e das terapeutas um esfor?o em romper com estere?tipos de g?nero e com o ideal de fam?lia nuclear, no entanto, ainda existe uma alta sensibilidade aos modelos prescritivos patriarcais de fam?lia.
