lt;p align="justify"gt;O envelhecimento é um processo heterogêneo. Nesse cenário, se concentra o envelhecimento saudável e/ou com doenças crônico-degenerativas e na dependência de pessoas que supram as suas incapacidades para a realização das atividades de vida diária. No Brasil, há um e meio milhão de idosos dependentes. A família contemporânea está sofrendo modificações ocasionadas por diferentes arranjos familiares reduzindo a disponibilidade de cuidadores domiciliares. A invisibilidade do envelhecimento rural com dependência e masculinização é expressiva. O meio rural é um universo de representações simbólicas com particularidades históricas, socioculturais e ecológicas com uma realidade própria. Os objetivos dessa dissertação
foram: conhecer e analisar as representações sociais dos cuidadores de idosos dependentes residentes na zona rural do Município de Santa Rita de Minas/MG e as relações e práticas que se estabelecem entre os cuidadores, os idosos, a comunidade e o Estado. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa na área de saúde, onde foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas e observações de campo. Esta análise permitiu a
compreensão que a contrapartida social e pública de redes de segurança e atenção são ainda incipientes, fato esse que gera um déficit de cuidado com impactos especiais
sobre as mulheres. Situação esta, agravada no campo devido à precariedade de acesso à bens e serviços. As representações sociais que se apresentaram são contraditórias, pois ao mesmo tempo que para o cuidador a prática do cuidar é: muito boa, da prazer gosto de cuidar; esta ação também implica não tenho tempo pra mais nada, também estou doente, choro e peço forças à Deus. A manutenção do idoso dependente na família, implica a necessidade de implantação de políticas públicas que
assumam o lócus de intervenção para além do idoso, inclua em seus programas de educação em saúde e intervenções: a família e a comunidade.lt;/pgt; / lt;p align="justify"gt;The aging is a heterogeneous process. In this scene, if it concentrates the
healthful aging and/or with chronic-degenerative illnesses and in the dependence of
people who supply its incapacities for the accomplishment of the activities of daily life.
In Brazil, it has one and half million of aged dependents. The family contemporary is
suffering modifications caused for different familiar arrangements reducing the
availability from domiciliary caregivers. The invisibility of the rural aging with
dependence and masculinization is expressive. The rural way is a universe of symbolic
representations with historical, sociocultural and ecological particularitities with a
proper reality. The objectives of this dissertation had been: to know and to analyze the
social representations of the caregivers of aged resident dependents in the rural zone of
the City of Santa Rita de Minas/MG and the practical relations and that they are
established between the caregivers, the aged ones, the community and the State. One is
about a qualitative research in the health area, where half-structuralized interviews and
comments of field had been carried through. This analysis allowed the understanding that the social and public counterpart of security nets and attention are still incipient,
fact this that generates a special deficit of care with impacts on the women. Situation this, aggravated in the field due to precariousness of access to the services. The social representations that if had presented are contradictory, therefore at the same time that for the caregivers the practical one of taking care of is: "very good", "of the pleasure" "taste to take care of"; this action also implies "does not have time more for nothing",
"also is sick", "I cry and I ask for forces to the God". The maintenance of the aged dependent in the family, implies the necessity of implantation of public politics that
assume lócus of intervention for beyond the aged one, includes in its programs of education in health and interventions: the family and the community.lt;/pgt;
