O trabalho propõe um Modelo de Currículo Integrado para a formação do auxiliar de enfermagem, cujo objetivo básico é facilitar o processo de integração de conhecimentos, com vistas a aumentar a eficiência do processo de promoção dos atendentes a auxiliares de enfermagem, mediante ensino individual programado. Desenvolvida ao longo de Cinco anos, a pesquisa abrange três etapas na operacionalização do Modelo: levantamento e estudo do problema; construção do Modelo e do material instrucional e respectiva testagem; aplicação do currículo em uma situação real, delineando-se, em parte, como estudo descritivo correlacional e, em parte, como estudo exploratório. Como indicadores da viabilidade do Modelo, sua consistência e capacidade operacional foram mensuradas pela comparação do desempenho entre um grupo de alunos envolvido no processo e outro que seguiu o ensino tradicional. Foi utilizada a "entrevista" para exame das influências e conseqüências geradas no local de trabalho pela aplicação do modelo. Em função da amostra e da natureza dos dados nas diversas etapas utilizaram-se para análise das tabelas o Teste Qui-Quadrado e o Teste de Kolmogorov-Smirnov. A análise dos dados comparativos das duas turmas envolvidas não indica diferenças de desempenho entre os alunos que concluíram o curso. A diferença reside no número de alunos que iniciaram e que concluíram o curso e as razões dessa diferença. o estudo permite ainda estabelecer hipóteses relativas à aplicabilidade do modelo a alunos sem nenhuma experiência profissional prévia, hipóteses essas que poderão orientar futuras investigações. / This work shows a Model of an Integrated Curriculum for the formation af the Nursering Auxiliary. Its basic aim is to facilitate the process of the integrated acquaintance, having in view the improvement Df the pracess af pramating the Nursery Attendant to Nursery Auxiliary by means af planing the individual teaching. Having been develaped during five years, this research camprises three stages in the development af the Model: research and study af the prablem; organization af the Madel and of the instructian material, and its respective testing; applicatian af the Curriculum ln a real situatian, in part outlining itself as a descriptive correlated study, and on the ather hand, as an explaratary study. To point aut the viability af the Madel, its cansistence and aperatianal ability were measured by comparlng the perfarmances af twa different graups af students: one group using this process, and the other group following the traditional teaching method. The interviewing method was used to test the influence and consequences which were developed at the working place with the Model application. Because of the kind of sample and of the nature of the known elements in the different stages, it was used the Qui-Squared Test and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test to analyze the presented boards. The analysis of the compara tive known elements of the two groups envolved doesn't indicate a large difference in the performances of the students who concluded the course. The main difference remains in the number Df students who began and finished the course, and ln the reasons that led the students to give it up. This work permits establishing some hypotheses related to the application Df the Model to students who have never had a professional experlence before. This kind of hypothesis may lead to a future investigation.
