Previous issue date: 2008 / The subject of this study is the small fraternity of Champagnat Movement of Marist Family, discussed from the perspective of principles of complex systems and small groups with the same presupposition. The design of this study has been combined, articulating both qualitative and quantitative data through their triangulation with theories of spirituality, small groups, system and network, and complex thought. From the discussion about the results, there has been evidence that the fraternity has characteristics of a small group; it constitutes a systemic network, linked to a large network, which is the Movement. Although the Fraternity has a simple functioning structure, it has autonomy and experiences recursivity. Often, the part (Fraternity) experiences the spirit of the whole (Movement) and vice-versa. The reasons for adherence to the group have been both experiencing and deepening Marist spirituality, as preached by its founder, San Marcelino Champagnat. They are related to living, sharing both old and current experiences, friendship, mutual support, support in child-rearing, personal growth, as well as family and community development. Two other reasons have been found out: the passion the group participants have both for the Founder and Marist Brothers, and the social engagement fostering the insertion and the exercise of citizenship in recursive dynamic. / O tema do presente estudo é a Pequena Fraternidade do Movimento Champagnat da Família Marista posta em discussão do ponto de vista de princípios dos sistemas complexos e dos pequenos grupos com o mesmo pressuposto. O delineamento para o estudo é misto articulando-se os dados qualitativos com os quantitativos mediante a triangulação destes com as teorias sobre espiritualidade, pequenos grupos, sistema e rede, e o pensamento complexo. Da discussão dos resultados evidenciou-se que a Fraternidade tem características de pequeno grupo, constitui uma rede sistêmica, ligada a uma grande rede que é o Movimento. Apesar de a Fraternidade ter estrutura simples de funcionamento, tem autonomia, vive a recursividade. Quase sempre, a parte (Fraternidade) vive o espírito do todo (Movimento) e vice-versa. Os motivos evidenciados da adesão ao grupo foram a vivência e o aprofundamento da Espiritualidade Marista, provinda do fundador São Marcelino Champagnat. Seguem o convívio, a partilha de vivências antigas e atuais, a amizade, o suporte mútuo, o aporte na educação dos filhos, crescimento pessoal, da família e da comunidade em que estão inseridos. Emergiu ainda a paixão que os participantes do grupo têm pelo Fundador, os Irmãos Maristas e o engajamento social promovendo a inserção e o exercício da cidadania em dinâmica recursiva.
