El objetivo es explorar los significados construidos en torno al suicidio en un grupo de psicoterapeutas psicoanalíticos de un centro de formación en Lima. Desde el paradigma cualitativo se utilizó un diseño fenomenológico en dos etapas: para la primera, los participantes son 54 psicoterapeutas psicoanalíticos; y para la segunda, de la primera etapa se seleccionaron 8 participantes que tuvieran contacto con pacientes con ideaciones y/o intentos suicidas. Los instrumentos utilizados fueron, para la primera etapa una ficha de datos y las redes semánticas naturales, y para la segunda, una entrevista a profundidad. Se encontró que los psicoterapeutas evocan diversos significados frente al fenómeno suicidio, los cuales pueden organizarse en tres ejes; el paciente, el terapeuta y su contratransferencia, y el tratamiento. En conclusión, los significados son construidos en base a las propias experiencias, de manera que la contratransferencia es un concepto psicoanalítico que permite la comprensión de la dinámica entre los pacientes suicidas y los terapeutas, y cómo ello influye en la creación de significados. Los psicoterapeutas emplean los significados para dar sentido y comprender el suicidio. / The objective is to explore the meanings constructed on suicide in a group of psychoanalytic psychotherapists from a formation center in Lima. It has been used a phemonological design from the qualitative model consisting in two stages: for the first one, the participants are 54 psychoanalytic psychotherapists; and for the second one, 8 participants from the first stage who were involved to patients with suicide ideations and/or attempts were selected. The used instruments were, for the first stage a data sheet and natural semantic networks, and for the second one, a detailed interview. It was found that the psychotherapists evoke diverse meanings around the suicidal phenomenon, which can be organized into three axis; the patients, the therapist and its countertransference, and the treatment. In conclusion, the meanings are constructed in base of individual experiences, so that countertransference is a psychoanalytic concept which allows the comprehension of the dynamic between suicidal patients and therapists, and how it influences the creation of meanings. The psychotherapists employ the meanings to give significance to and comprehend suicide. / Tesis
