Arbetsgruppsrelationer - En studie av provisonsanställda på en mäklarbyrå

This study examines work relations on a real estate agency. My interest is to examine how real estate agents apprehend their work relations, and how a recession can affect these relations. Previous research shows that the occurrence of competition in groups decreases the motivation to cooperate. A different research illustrates that reward interdependence is important to performance, and that task interdependence drives observed cooperative behavior. The study contained six interviews with real estate agents working on commission. The result of the present study shows that the employees are in general happy with both cooperation and the occurrence of competition. The reason to the occurrence of competition in the group is the reward system, which the employees would want to contain a fixed part in order to feel secure. Further, the results show that the employees would like their boss to distribute more feedback, and that the recession has affected the work relations in several ways. Now, the employees communicate and cooperate more, while the competition is more remarkable. The spirit among employees has been more strained as a result of low sale. The conclusion is that the real estate agents overall find their work relations satisfying, and that the present reward system is to prefer if they want to preserve these relations.
