Bakgrund: Palliativ vård ska förebygga och lindra lidande genom att tidigt identifiera, bedöma och behandla smärta samt se till de fysiska, psykosociala och andliga behoven. Omvårdnaden fokuserar på smärtlindring, stöd och information till patienten och dess närstående. Sjuksköterskan har en stark påverkan på livskvaliteten hos patienter som vårdas i livets slutskede men det kan vara en krävande utmaning både kompetensmässigt, tidsmässigt och emotionellt att vårda patienter i livets slutskede. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att belysa sjuksköterskors upplevelser av patientens omvårdnadsbehov vid livets slutskede. Metod: Studien är en litteraturöversikt grundad på 15 vetenskapliga studier publicerade mellan åren 2009–2016. Studierna var av både kvantitativ och kvalitativ design och blev funna via databaserna Pubmed och Cinahl via specifika sökord. Resultat: Sex kategorier som belyser sjuksköterskans upplevelser av patientens omvårdnadsbehov vid livets slutskede identifierades vilka var: Få en god kommunikation, Få stöd i aktiviteter i dagliga livet, Få anhöriga involverade i vården, Få rätt vård i rätt tid, Få känna genuint närvarande samt Få andlig omvårdnad. Slutsats: Resultatet belyser ett omvårdnadsbehov hos patienter i livets slutskede i form av god kommunikation, närvaro och andlig omvårdnad. Dessutom belyses vikten av att låta anhöriga vara delaktiga i patientens vård samt vikten av stöttning i dagliga aktiviteter och smärtlindring. / Background: Palliative care should prevent and alleviate suffering by identifying, assessing and treating pain early, and addressing the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. The nursing focuses on pain relief, support and information for the patient and his / her relatives. The nurse has a strong impact on the quality of life of patients being cared for at the end of life, but it can be a demanding challenge both in terms of competence, time and emotionally to care for patients at the end of life. Aim: The aim of this study is to illustrate nurses' experiences of the patient's nursing needs at the end of life. Method: The study is a literature review based on 15 scientific studies published between the years 2009–2016. The studies were of both quantitative and qualitative design and were found through the Pubmed and Cinahl databases via specific keywords. Result: Six categories that illustrate the nurse's experiences of the patient's need for care at the end of life were identified which were: To receive good communication, To receive support in activities in daily life, To receive family members involved in the care, To receive the right care at the right time,To receive the feeling of genuine presence as well as To receive spiritual care. Conclusion: The result illustrate a need for nursing of patients at the end of life in the form of good communication, presence and spiritual care. In addition, the importance of allowing relatives to be involved in the patient's care as well as the importance of support in daily activities and pain relief is also illustrated in the study.
