Jag vill att människor bara ska korsa varandra på gatan, jag vill att de ska mötas och få utbyte av varandra. Jag vill bidra till aktivitet snarare än passivitet och jag vill vända eventuell misstro till tilltro. Mitt projekt handlar om förening. Förening av platser, människor och material. I detta projekt har jag jobbat med kulturstråket i Växjö. Ett stråk som innefattar platserna Stadsbiblioteket, Växjö Konserthus, Växjö konsthall, Växjö Teater, Regionteatern Ringsberg och aktivitetsparken Spetsamossen. Målsättningen här har varit att förena såväl de geografiska platserna som människorna som vistas i dessa. Jag har formgivit en interaktionsmöbel, en bänk vars funktion bidrar till att grupper eller individer genom sitt handlande påverkar varandra. Bänken ska uppmuntra till samarbete och kommunikation och fungera som ett återkommande kännemärke för kulturstråket. Förhoppningsvis bidrar bänken även till att människor blir mer än bara främlingar för varandra. / I do not want people only to pass by each other on the street. I want them to meet and get an exchange from one another. I want to contribute to activity rather than passivity and I want to turn disbelief into trust. My project is all about unification. A unification of places, people and of materials. In this project I have been working with the cultural domain in Växjö. A domain which includes the public library, Växjö concert hall, Växjö art gallery, Växjö theatre, Ringsberg theatre and Spetsamossen activity park. The aim has been to unify these geographical places as well as the people visiting them. I have designed an interaction piece. A bench whose function will conduce groups or individuals to affect one another through their actions. The bench will encourage collaboration and communication and it will work as a recurring characteristic of the cultural domain. Hopefully, the bench will also conduce people to be more than strangers to each other.
