För att nå ut med korrekt information till rätt person i rätt tid behöver en organisations kommunikation fungera. Kommunikation är därför grundläggande för att kunna skapa effektivitet och är en bidragande faktor för deras utvecklingskurva. En organisations kommunikation brukar vanligtvis delas upp i två olika typer; formell och informell kommunikation. Denna studie syftar till att undersöka hur den interna informella kommunikationen fungerar för operativa enheter i en organisation som ingår i ett större nätverk, samt att undersöka vilka svårigheter som uppstår i samband med förändringar. Detta kan i sin tur skapa större förståelse för växande organisationers kommunikationsproblem. En abduktiv metod har använts för att uppnå studiens syfte och en fallstudie har genomförts för att få djupare information. Kvalitativa semistrukturerade intervjuer har utförts för att förstå respondenternas berättelse och få mer nyanserad information. Studiens resultat tydliggör att teorin och praktiken stämmer överens i de fallen där den informella kommunikationen medför svårigheter samt vad som skulle kunna effektivisera den. Resultatet visar att informationsöverflöd och okunskap kring val av kommunikationskanal påverkar kommunikationen negativt. Även svårigheter att anpassa budskapen för mottagaren. Vidare är även uppfattningen kring fördelarna med informell kommunikation enad i litteraturen, dock visar respondenterna på att uppfattningen varierar i praktiken. Slutsatsen beskriver vikten av att uppmärksamma växande organisationers interna kommunikation och informationsflöden. Studien visar att en kommunikationsstrategi kan bidra till effektivare kommunikationsflöde för växande organisationer. Slutsatsen innehåller även rekommendationer för organisationer i växande nätverk, framtagna genom att jämföra tidigare forskning och teorier med resultatet. / In order to reach accurate information to the right person on time, an organization's communication needs to work. Communication is therefore fundamental in order to create efficiency and is a contributing factor to their development curve. An organization's communication is usually divided into two different types; formal and informal communication. This study aims to investigate how internal informal communication works for operational units in an organization that is part of a larger network, as well as investigating the difficulties that arise in connection with changes. This in turn can create a greater understanding of growing organizations' communication problems. An abductive method has been used to achieve the purpose of the study and a case study has been conducted to obtain deeper information. Qualitative semi- structured interviews have been conducted to understand the respondents' story and get more nuanced information. The results of the study clarify that the theory and practice are consistent in cases where informal communication causes difficulties as well as what could make it more efficient. The result shows that information overflow and ignorance about the choice of communication channel adversely affect communication. Also, difficulty adjusting the message to the recipient. Furthermore, the perception of the advantages of informal communication is united in literature, however, the respondents point out that perception differs in practice. The conclusion describes the importance of paying attention to growing organizations' internal communications and information flows. The study shows that a communication strategy can contribute to more efficient communication flow for growing organizations. The conclusion also includes recommendations for organizations in growing networks, developed by comparing previous research and theories with the result.
