Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur HVB framställs i nyhetsmedia. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten som tillämpas är den socialkonstruktivistiska teorin, specifikt dagsordningsteorin. Tidigare forskning om hur socialt arbete framställs i media kommer att presenterades samt hur fenomenet ”framing” uttrycker sig i media. I uppsatsen tillämpas en kvalitativ metodansats, mer specifikt en innehållsanalys. Totalt nitton artiklar från Sveriges fyra mest etablerade nyhetstidningar kommer att analyseras i relation till den valda teorin och tidigare forskning. Resultatet kommer att presenteras i tre huvudkategorier, Granskning av HVB, Hot och våld och Ekonomisk vinst. Under den första kategorin finns det tre underkategorier: Säkerhet och trygghet, Tillstånd och Personal. Hot och våld är resultatets andra kategori vilket har delats in i två underkategorier, Hot och våld relaterat till personalen och Hot, utnyttjande och våld relaterat till ungdomarna. I analysen framkommer det att nyhetsmedia framställer HVB som ett nödvändigt ont i socialt arbete. Nyhetsmedia presenterar även en motstridig bild om situationen på HVB samt gör negativa kopplingar till HVB. / The purpose of this essay is to examine how newsmedia portrays HVB. The theoretical basis of this study is social constructivism, specifically the agenda setting theory. Previous research on how social work is portrayed in newsmedia will be presented along with how ”framing” previously have been used in newsmedia. This study have a qualitative method and will be practising a content analysis. A total of nineteen aticles from Swedens most well established newspapers will be analysed in relation to the chosen theory and previous research. The result will be presented in three main categories: ”Inspection of HVB”, ”Threats and violence” and ”Economical profit”. The first main category, ”Inspection of HVB”, will be devided into three subcategories which is ”Securaty and safety”, ”Licence” and ”Staff”. The second main theme, ”Threaths and violence”, will be divided into two themes which are ”Threaths and violence related to the staff” and ”Threaths, exploitation and violence related to the adolescent”. In the analysis of the results it transpires that newsmedia portray HVB as a necassary evil in social work. The newsmedia also present a contradictory view on the ongoing situation in HVB and freguently portray dismissive connotations.
