Skellefteå kommun införde 2005 källsortering av matavfall, de har vid två tillfällen sedan dess genomfört plockanalyser för att se hur noggrant invånarna sorterar sitt avfall. Man såg då att det utsorterade matavfallet hade hög renhet men i det brännbara fanns det fortfarande kvar en del matavfall. Detta bör förbättras.I denna uppsats undersöks hur källsorteringen har utvecklats, vilken information invånarna har fått och hur andra kommuner arbetar. Vilka slutsatser kan dras utifrån detta och vad kan man göra för att förbättra källsorteringen av matavfall?Information har samlats in från Skellefteå kommun och tre andra kommuner har tillfrågats hur de arbetar med källortering av matavfall. Dessutom har litteraturstudier gjorts om hur männi-skor ändrar sina vanor.Det har visat sig att det inte är en stor vaneförändring att källsortera matavfall, svårigheten ligger i att upprätthålla källsorteringen till den har blivit norm. Uppsatsen innehåller konkreta förslag på hur man kan förbättra det som anses vara problem med att källsortera och tips på hur intresset för att källsortera matavfall kan ökas. / Skellefteå municipality began in 2005 with source separation of food waste they have on two occasions since then had picking analyses done to see how carefully people sort their waste. They saw that the separate fraction of food waste was good but in the combustible, there were still food wastes left. This needed to be improved.This essay examines how the source separation has developed and what information inhabit-ants have received and also how other municipalities are working with this. What conclusions can be drawn from this and what can we do to improve source separation of the food waste?Information has been collected from Skellefteå municipality and three other municipalities have been asked how they work with source separation of food waste. In addition, literature studies of how people change their habits have been done.It has been shown that there is a major change in habits to sort out food waste, the difficulty lies in maintaining source separation until it has become the norm. The paper contains specific proposals on how to improve that´s considered being the problems with source separation and ideas on how the interest in separating food waste can be improved.
