Bakgrund Årligen ådrar sig cirka 20 700 äldre personer i Sverige en höftledsfraktur vilket kräver en omfattande vård och rehabilitering. Återhämtningen börjar på sjukhuset och fortsätter i patientens hem. Sjuksköterskor som är de närmaste vårdgivare för denna patientgrupp har en betydande roll i återhämtningsprocessen. För att patienterna ska kunna återhämta sig med bra resultat behöver rehabiliteringen anpassas efter deras behov. Syfte Syftet med denna litteraturöversikt var att belysa äldre personers erfarenhet av omvårdnad i samband med rehabiliteringen efter genomgången höftledsoperation. Metod Metod som valdes till detta arbete var en icke-systematisk litteraturöversikt. Resultatet baserades på 15 vetenskapliga artiklar där datainsamling genomfördes från databaserna PubMed, CINAHL samt manuell sökning. Artiklar granskades enligt Sophiahemmet Högskolas bedömningsunderlag. Resultat sammanställdes med användning av interaktiv analys. Resultat Patienter har erfarit att återhämtningen var en lång process som påverkades av olika faktorer såsom kommunikation, samarbete mellan vårdpersonal och närstående, framtidsutsikter och även tillgång till geriatrisk vård. Tre kategorier identifierades: Patienters erfarenhet av omvårdnad i samband med rehabilitering på sjukhuset, Patienters erfarenhet av utskrivning efter höftfraktur och Patienters erfarenhet av omvårdnad i samband med rehabilitering efter sjukhusvistelse. Slutsats Samarbetet mellan olika professioner, tydlig kommunikation, geriatrisk omvårdnad och fortsatt rehabilitering efter sjukhusvistelsen är viktiga aspekter för att främja äldre människors återhämtning efter höftfraktur. Resultatet belyser äldre människors erfarenheter av omvårdnad där sjuksköterskan är en viktig del i patientens återhämtningsprocess. Geriatrisk omvårdnad med sin komplexitet har en stor betydelse för att säkerhetsställa en högkvalitativ vård för äldre patienter. Under arbetet upptäcktes även utrymme för vidare forskning och klinisk tillämpbarhet beskrivits. / Background Every year nearly 20 700 elderly patients are in need of broad medical care and rehabilitation due to hip fracture. The recovery starts already in the hospital and continues in in their own homes. Nurses, as the closest medical personnel for this patient group, have remarkable role in the recovery process. To be able to recover from injury with good results the patients need the rehabilitation to fit their needs. Aim The aim of this literature review study is to view the experience of elderly patients with the medical care as well as with rehabilitation after undergone hip surgery. Method The chosen method for this document was non-systematic literature review. The result is based upon 15 scientific articles which are sourced from databases PubMed, CINAHL and manual searching. Articles were examined by Sophiahemmet´s University assessment. The result was determined by integrated analysis. Results Patients experience that recovery is long process which is affected by variety of factors like communication, cooperation between medical personnel and patient’s close people, future views and even access to geriatric care. Three categories were identified: Patients’ experience of medical care with relation to rehabilitation in hospital, patients’ experience of discharge after the hip fracture and patients’ experience of medical care with relation to rehabilitation after hospitalization. Conclusions Cooperation between medical personnel, explicit communication, geriatric care and to continue rehabilitating after the hospitalization are the important aspects to help elderly people to recover after the hip fracture. The results illustrates the experience of elderly people with the medical care where nurse is the important part of recovery process. Geriatric care with its complexity has a big impact in order to secure the high quality care for elderly patients. The possible areas for further research and description of clinical application has been described during the work as well.
