[pt] A presente tese é dedicada à investigação crítica de
discursos variados,
produzidos em torno da Guerra de Canudos. O corpus da
análise é constituído por
material documental e jornalístico da época a respeito do
evento, bem como pelos
ecos da guerra colhidos em múltiplas representações
historiográficas, literárias,
imagéticas e cinematográficas posteriores. A partir de
pressupostos teóricos, tanto
do campo disciplinar da nova história quanto de estudos
atuais da literatura
fundados em perspectivas construtivistas, foi elaborado um
modelo para uma
escrita biográfico-historiográfica que problematiza o
gênero, fundado sobre idéias
de integração e totalidade. Oferece-se assim uma visão
mosaica, avessa à síntese,
baseada na coexistência e contigüidade de múltiplas
opções, na proposta de
construção de um evento histórico como o ocorrido em
Canudos e também na
construção da figura do seu líder, Antônio Conselheiro. / [en] The main purpose of this Doctorate Dissertation is the
critical investigation
of the different and varied sets of discourses produced
about The War of Canudos.
The corpus chosen for the analyses of the topic comprises
documental and
journalistic material on the period the event took place,
as well as on the echoes of
the war in its multiple historiographic, literary,
imagetic, and cinematographic
subsequent representations. Based on theoretical
assumptions both from New
Historicism and the contemporary literary studies grounded
on constructivist
perspectives, a model for a biographic-historiographic
writing was elaborated in
order to problematize the gender in question, centered
upon concepts of
integration and totality. An opposed-to-synthesis and
mosaic version of the matter
is thus offered, as it is thoroughly based on the
coexistence and contiguity of the
multiple options for the proposal of construction of both
a relevant historical event
as the one taken place in Canudos and of the war`s
leader`s figure, Antonio
Conselheiro.
