Previous issue date: 2008-06-26 / This study has pursued to learn about the quality of life of individuals that used to work with cooperatives with the philosophy of the Solidary Economy. More specifically, it has
intended to: identify the social, economical, cultural and demographic profile of adults that participate on activities promoted by the Solidary Economy; evaluate the quality of life of these individuals; describe the understanding that these workers have regarding the concept
of quality of life. Sixty nine people were part of this study; workers from three different recyclable garbage collection cooperatives. A questionary especially elaborated for this
study was applied containing the workers identification ata; with the purpose of making a databank of social, economical, cultural and demographic aspects. In this questionary the
criteria of income classification and social class of the Brazilian Association of Research Institutes (ABIPEME) was incorporated along with the Whoqol Bref Life Quality Scale.
It was verified that the workers present a good level of life quality. Regarding the social, economical, cultural and demographic data, there was a dominance of single or married
female with children. Regarding the quality of life, there was a significant correlation between the physical and psychological domains and also the correlation between the
psychological domains and the social relations. On the other hand, the environmental domain was the one that presented the lowest data regarding quality of life. The hypothesis is that the fact that the workers are unsatisfied with their insufficient incomes, their precarious homes, most of them coming from a very competitive and individualistic economical system and they not having the necessary adaptation that this new system requires, the workers have intervened on the environment domain in a negative way.(AU) / Este estudo buscou estudar qualidade de vida em indivíduos que trabalhavam em cooperativas com a filosofia da Economia Solidária.

Modelo cooperativo construtivista para autoria de cursos a distância usando tecnologia de Workflow / Cooperative constructivist model for e-learning authoring using workflow technologyZeve, Carlos Mario Dal Col January 2003 (has links)
This work aims to specify a model of description of tasks, using workflow technology to represent the automation of e-learning authoring activities in a distributed environment as the web, based on an interacionist model of cooperation. It also has the objective of obtaining important answers to workflow specification needs, taking into consideration the possibility to add or modify some elements, so that they can express situations not foreseen in current models. The interest of this work in workflow relies in the fact that the developed tasks in are related to the multimedia documents authoring, such as those used in distance education. These comprise not only construction, but the cooperative processes that suggest decisions, choices, and preferences during the authoring process. The proposed approach deals with the workflow conception problem of the in a declarative way, through a model that allows the specification of tasks, as well as the temporary ordination. The temporary ordination can be obtained by the sequence, selection and interaction of activities, as well as, by the properties which identify the beginning and the end of each activity. Finally, this work seeks to extend the possibilities of workflow models construction, proposing a planning technique that makes possible an author’s allocation politic which associates time availability and the competences involved in the activities. Therefore, the objective of this work is an authorship process model that enables to express the interaction and cooperation among authors, by a competence for performing certain activities guided allocation politic.

The CSCW paradigm for software developmentViljoen, Zelda 06 1900 (has links)
People work together to solve a wide variety of problems using different forms of cooperation for each class of problem. Modern technology is complex, and therefore it is unusual for an individual to attempt the development of a major project single-handedly. In an attempt to provide computer-based support for the problems that arise when two or more people attempt to cooperate to perform a task or solve a problem, the area of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) becomes relevant. The software development process almost invariably
involves cooperation that crosses group, professional, and subcultural boundaries. The complexity of software development demands that highly integrated groups of analysts, designers, and users are involved in the process. Many development activities may occur concurrently. The area of CSCW and advanced information
technology, with its enormous capabilities for transmitting and storing information, holds considerable promise for the software development process. / Computing / M. Sc. (Information Systems)

Implications of Brazilian Federal law no. 12,690/2012 for cooperatives of waste pickers.Glaucia Maria Brenny 11 April 2014 (has links)
salário mínimo mensal; remuneração do trabalho noturno superior à do
diurno; duração do trabalho não superior a oito horas diárias e 44 horas semanais;
The purpose of this research is to answer if the Brazilian federal law 12,690
from 2012, that supports the activities of labor cooperatives, presents benefits or
obstacles in the particular case of waste pickers cooperatives. In addition, it will be
also identified its positive or negative points and the difficulty of its implementation,
that can be bureaucratic, technical or economic. The overall goal is to analyze the
implications of this law, with respect to the organization, socioeconomic status and
general labor conditions. This research can be considered exploratory, because
there are few discussions or papers about actual legislation on labor
cooperatives that support this study. This is considered a qualitative research, that
compares the new legislation (law no. 12,690 from 2012) with the previous legislation
(law no. 5,764 from 1971) and investigates the possible implications for cooperatives
and cooperative workers. It was verified that the law has not essentially a "formal
worker" character, as verified in a comparative analysis between the three laws, the
present law, the Federal Brazilian Constitution and the Brazilian Consolidation of
Labor Laws. It is noted that the law n 12,690 from 2012 only emphasized social
rights of the Brazilian Federal Constitution, which apply to all working relationship to
ensure human dignity. The study shows that the greatest impact of this law will be in
the economic sector of waste pickers cooperatives, because the implementation
and impact of these rules to labor relations may increase the final selling material
price. The recyclable materials more expensive, some companies cannot purchase
them and the cooperatives cannot be able to self-sustaining and eventually should
close their businesses. Therefore, considering an adequate public policies to balance
the socioeconomic factor, the Law 12,690 from 2012 would meet the expectations of
the category of recyclable materials and guarantee the dignity in their work activities.
To establish the balance between public policies and the Law 12,690 from 2012, it is
recommended to implement municipal programs of selective waste collection. The
society must be stimulated to segregate the domestic and industrial waste. Moreover
the existing social programs shall be reinforced, and the cooperatives of recyclable
materials needs to become more popular in the market and the recycling
activity must be encouraged, in which reduction of taxes on recycled materials should
occur. It is also recommended to create specific legal rules for the recyclable
materials pikers category, especially on health and safety, in accordance with their
reality. It is due to the fact that they are different from other companies that envisage
the profit and transmit the costs to the final consumers.

Software requirements specification process applied to cooperative work.Vagner Luiz Gava 02 December 2009 (has links)
Users\' work in information systems is a social activity that involves people groups cooperating to perform many different functions. The nature of cooperation itself is complex and depends on the people involved, on the workplace environment and on the organization in which the work develops. Aspects related to the users\' cooperative work are not considered in the traditional approach of software engineering, since the user is viewed independently of his/her workplace environment or group, with the individual model generalized to the study of collective behavior of all users. This work proposes a process for software requirements to address issues involving cooperative work in information systems that provide distributed coordination in the users\' actions and the communication among them occurs indirectly through the data entered while using the software. To achieve this goal, this research uses ergonomics, cognition and software engineering concepts. Research-action is used as a research methodology applied in three cycles during the development of a corporate workflow system in a technological research company. In the first cycle, the proposed process exposes the definition of the problem domain requirements and the users\' individual contributions. In the second cycle, the contributions of the group (their actions and inter-relationships) are considered together with the individual contributions through the simulation of the proposed solution. In the third cycle, the process deals with the refinement of the cooperative work requirements with the software in actual use in the workplace. The results at the end of cycle 2 and the beginning of cycle 3 during the process application in the field show the need for process improvement. This is necessary because the inclusion of a computer system changes the users workplace, from the face to face interaction to the interaction mediated by the software. The results show that the highest degree of users\' awareness as the interrelationship of their activities are carried out contributes to a decrease in their individual errors, reducing software recoding rework and above all the inappropriate use of the system, avoiding the spread of the consequences of these errors in the final results of the group work.

The socio-technical teams formation problem: Complexity, Mathematical Formulations and Computational Results / Problema de FormaÃÃo de Equipes SociotÃcnicas: Complexidade, FormulaÃÃes MatemÃticas e Resultados ComputacionaisTatiane Fernandes Figueiredo 14 August 2014 (has links)
Using concepts of the socio-technical systems theory, this dissertation defines mathematically the problems of cooperative teams formation considering social and technical constraints separately, and then presents their computational complexity. Mainly, it is defined and studied the central problem in this work, which jointly considers social and technical requirements for creating teams of cooperative work, to be called FEST (Socio-Technical Teams Formation Problem).
Two mathematical formulations and a meta-heuristic are proposed for FEST. One formulation uses a cubic number of variables and constraints, whereas the second one has a quadratic number of variables but an exponential number of constraints. The proposed heuristic is based on the Non-monotonic Simulated Annealing meta-heuristic with local search using swap-like operators. The correctness of both formulations is proved. A polynomial algorithm to separate the constraints of the second formulation is presented. It is proved that the two formulations provide the same linear programming bound, and valid inequalities to strengthen it are proposed. For the compact formulation, some classes of valid inequalities are shown to be facet-inducing under suitable hypotheses. Finally, it is statistically analyzed the performance of the presented formulations and meta-heuristic. Real and random generated instances are used in the computational experiments.

Software Process Improvement Using Groupware : Supporting Distributed Cooperation in Software Development / Distribuerat Samarbete inom Mjukvaruutveckling med hjälp av GroupwareNordenskjöld, Gustav, Kingma, Harm Andries January 2003 (has links)
This master thesis describes our work with Team Sweden and how we have attempted to perform a Software Process Improvement using groupware. Team Sweden is a distributed academic software development organization doing research on artificial intelligence and robotics. Such an organization has a lot to gain from the introduction of a more structured process model. We have investigated the possibility of supporting the development processes of a small software development organization by introducing groupware. Only introducing a groupware tool or technique is not enough to improve the processes of an organization. Process improvement requires an infrastructure and groupware could be a useful tool for establishing it. Improved communication and knowledge sharing through groupware can be beneficial for establishing a process infrastructure. Groupware should be used in conjunction with other process improvement measures in order to be effective and improve the capability of the targeted organization. / This master thesis describes our work with Team Sweden and how we have attempted to perform a Software Process Improvement using groupware. / gustav@nordenskjold.com hakingma@hotmail.com
