The purpose of this study was to examine the perceptions and attitudes of the Diploma of Educational Studies (Tertiary) students towards Educational Television. The subjects of the study were compared with a group of teachers college lecturers who had not studied overseas. The Diploma of Educational Studies (Tertiary) students who came to Canberra, Australia, to study, were surveyed at three different stages, (i) Three Weeks in Australia, (ii) Ten Months in Australia, and (iii) After twelve months back in Papua New Guinea. The statistical analysis of individual questions showed no statistical difference in the attitudes and perceptions, based on the questions asked, while the statistical analysis of the groups , based upon the questionnaires, also showed that the sample groups were not statistically different from each other. As this study was a pilot no firm conclusions can be drawn as to the difference in attitudes and perceptions of the D.E.S. (Tertiary) lecturers about Educational Television in Papua New Guinea. Areas of disagreement identified , were compared to those problems that emerged from the investigation of Educational Television in American Samoa and The Ivory Coast. Issues that required possible further investigation were then identified.

Through the use of a case study methodology, this research presents a qualitative analysis of Eureka! The Creative Arts Series, an instructional art education television series from 1995. In recognition of the reality that no lesson in the field is value-neutral, the study seeks to determine the implicit and explicit messages about art education communicated through the various features of the series. The dominant art educational message is established with the use of an essential tool: a 2008 list of 45 puropses for art education. Using this list, the study distills the eight epsiodes of Eureka! down to their central, most frequently espoused messages. This information is then used to enhance understanding of how an effective art educator presents material, as well as how a successful art education television program may function. / text

"Most stations probably keep various materials in order that they may be used again. Because there is a definite saving of time if materials are stored systematically and are readily available, the question arises as to how the various educational television stations in the country maintain a record of what they have produced and obtained in the way of audio-visual materials which will probably be useful in later programming. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to: (1) determine what types of audio-visual materials educational television stations store; (2) learn of the physical arrangement of the storage of these materials; and (3) ascertain if these materials are indexed, and, if so, in what manner. Northern Minnesota Public Television is an independent, non-profit corporation operating as KAWE television on the campus of Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. This study focuses on the lack of educational/public television in the northern section of Minnesota and develops a historical perspective of Northern Minnesota Public Television from an idea of two men until sign-on in 1980. The study describes the early beginnings, organizational structure, problems encountered, and educational philosophy. KAWE television operates on Channel 9 with a satellite station in Brainerd, Minnesota, operating on Channel 22.

The purpose of this paper is to establish a need for more accessible fine arts courses offered to adults and more specifically in music, to design a series of programs that would give an introduction to beginning functional piano through the use of educational television. The paper includes ten lesson outlines for thirty minute program segments including a pilot script. This educational television series is designed to stimulate the student's continued playing of the piano with guided instruction through class or private lessons. A particular method of piano pedagogy used for educational television is explored. Procedures followed in order to be able to film the project are also covered, It is suggested that a survey in the particular viewing audience area be conducted and tests given to a cross-section of adults before implementation of the program.
