My diploma thesis is dedicated to the issue of data mining, its part of predictive analysis and then process that is used in HP for different prediction. The introductory part describes the concept of data mining, its role and benefits. To one of its tasks fall predictive analysis, where I discussed the principles of its use. Then follows framework HP, which uses one of the tasks of predictive analysis. In the practical part, I applied the use VBA to automate one part of the process of converting text to numerical data, assuming different rules. The result is a set of macros support, system sheet and the new ribbon for data transformation.

The first aim of this thesis is map the Microsoft development tools for business intelligence systems. This goal devide the tools for develop BI into two groups: tools for traditional BI systems and tools for self-service BI systems. The second aim of this thesis is a critical evaluation of approaches based on the criteria and scenarios focuse on selected business areas. This thesis answers the question if some of the approaches is a better solution for business intelligence systems, or whether one approach is more suitable for business intelligence solutions to some business areas.

Abstract This diploma thesis treats about the latest technologies in the field of self-service BI from Microsoft Corporation. The main goal of this work is to analyze the Microsoft self-service BI solutions, to describe the benefits and advantages of this technology and to show examples with real data in Microsoft self-services BI tools. To achieve the goal, the internet resources, recommended literature, and the software applications PowerPivot and PowerView (Excel 2013) are59 used. In its first part this thesis describes the basic characteristics and technology of classical BI solutions. The second part examines the actual self-service BI solution and its usability. And then analyzes the advantages and benefits compared to conventional technologies. Finally, in its last section describes self-service BI solutions, the DAX language used in PowerPivot and shows example reports with real data from banking sector. The key benefit of this diploma is the verification of the usability and advantages of self-service BI by using Microsoft self-service BI products and tools.

This thesis deals with the Microsoft's self-service business intelligence tools and it's used for eCommerce. The main goal of this work is to analyze and design metrics and applications for effective management of eCommerce using PowerPivot and Power View. Metrics are based on balanced scorecard approach and applications are based on MBI reference model. This thesis is supposed to help eCommerce managers and administrators to implement a custom self-service business intelligence solution.

The thesis describes implementation of Business Intelligence solution in mid-sized company which produces and sells animal nutrition products. Currently the company uses basic tools for reporting, mostly Excel application. Considering the data growth, that solution is about not to be sufficient. In the first part of the thesis, the Business Intelligence principals are introduced to the reader, so one is provided with enough knowledge to understand the issue of data processing, transforming and storing. Basics of data visualization used for decision making in the company are introduced as well. At the end of the chapter, there is a list of general rules for creating a dashboard. The secord part describes the Trouw Nutrition Biofaktory s.r.o. company, where the implementation of new Business Intelligence solution is going to take place. The reader will learn about the company size, structure and history. The last part contains a new procedure how to process data for reporting purposes. The design includes data loading to MS SQL 2012 database server and further processing for analytical purposes. In addition, OLAP cube is created as well as three monthly dashboards.

This work deals with system dynamics. Its main task is to create and description of the add-in to Excel that allows users to model the stock and flow model directly in Excel. Furthermore, there is discussed about the general theory of system dynamics, systems and models. There is also described the history of programming languages and their development to C #, in which the supplement was created. The thesis also presents competition created add-in.

The main topic of this thesis is design and implementation of decision support systems in the environment of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access by a programmer or advanced user. The thesis provides basic theory regarding principles and the history of decision support systems. The thesis explains technologies that are the backbone of Microsoft Office suite and applies these technologies to create set of "best practices" for designing and programming decision support systems and demonstrates this set with two sample implementatios. Both implementations are compared, advantages and disadvantages of each are shown.

Diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of the efficiency using DEA models focusing on the use of dedicated software tools. There are four chapters in the thesis where different approaches to efficiency are briefly presented. The method of data envelopment analysis (DEA) with its modifications is described in detail -- basic models, CCR, BCC and additive model. The main part of the work is presented in the second part of this thesis where I describe how to work with each program and summarize its advantages and disadvantages. The last chapter applies prior knowledge on real situation -- the evaluation of the efficiency of the regional police stations in the Czech Republic.

This thesis deals with the extension of Office application Microsoft Excel -- PowerPivot program. First, the thesis focuses on the topic of the actual Business Intelligence (BI) and compares the classical BI approach and self-service BI approach. In the first part are dis-cussed current trends in BI. The second and main part is focused to the PowerPivot. Grad-ually are mentioned benefits and news in PowerPivot on the examples compared to classical analysis in Excel. In the initial description of the features are also instructions for installing the program and its news in version 2013. An important chapter is focused to the DAX expressions and all the calculations that can be implemented in PowerPivot. Separate chapters are devoted to data import and connection with MS SharePoint Server. As an ex-ample, is introduced the calculation of the ABC analysis to classify products, used mainly in logistics. The last part deals with implementation of applications in PowerPivot for MBI model (Management of Business Informatics).

På marknaden idag sätts det allt större krav på att företag ska kunna leverera unika produkter med hög kvalité för vara så attraktiva på marknaden som möjligt. Det har därför blivit allt mer vanligt inom industrier att man delar av sin standard produktion till projektbaserad produktion för att lösa specifika uppgifter. De företag som har många projekt samtidigt är oftast utformad som en multi-projektorganisation. Det karakteristiska draget för en multi-projektorganisation är att fler projekt bedrivs parallellt av samma personal. Fördelen med detta arbetssätt är att företag kan använda de mänskliga resurserna på ett effektivt sätt, då kunskap kan överföras mellan de olika projekten. Projektledarnas roll i företaget blir då allt viktigare samt en effektiv projektstyrning och projektkoordination. I en multi-projektorganisation så kan störningar i ett projekt påverka de övriga projekten. Det är därför viktigt med en jämn fördelning av arbetet och beläggning för projektledarna, inte bara för projektets resultat utan även för arbetsmiljön så att inte det skapas onödig stress eller ovisshet. Projektkoordinatorns roll i organisationen blir då att koordinera projektledarna så deras arbetsmiljö blir hållbar. Att arbeta i en multi-projektmiljö förväntas att öka i framtiden men det finns lite studier inom detta område. Speciellt hur man undviker problemen och vilka förutsättningar som är viktiga för att bedriva en hälsosam och effektiv projektkoordinering. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka vilka förutsättningar som är viktiga vid projektkoordinering och föreslå hjälpmedel för projektkoordinatorns dagliga arbete. Detta sker genom att undersöka projektkoordinering i ett fallföretag och få en förståelse för deras arbetssätt och metoder. Resultatet används för att utveckla och säkerställa en bra och hållbar arbetsmiljö för de anställda samt höja effektiviteten för projektorganisationen. Datainsamling har skett genom en kvalitativ fallstudie på Holtab AB. Den har gjorts genom intervjuer och observationer samt studier av dokument. Samtidigt gjordes en kvantitativ datainsamling för att ta reda på vilka problem som generellt förekommer på företag där projektledarna arbetar med flera projekt samtidigt. Detta gjordes genom enkäter via mail. Det har blivit tydligt under studien att företag som arbetar i bygg- eller tillverkningsindustrin har speciellt svårt att planera framtiden då projekten måste startas direkt och leveranstiderna är korta. Ett problem som Holtab´s organisation har i dagsläget är att de inte har en korrekt överblick på projektledarnas beläggning. Holtab är just nu i en fas där deras projektorganisation växter och det har anställts fler projektledare under de senaste åren, vilket har gjort att projektchefens roll som projektkoordinator har blivit allt mer nödvändig. Tillsammans med Holtabs projektchef och projektledarna så skapades en kravspecifikation för ett verktyg. Verktyget fick namnet PCAO (Projekt Coordination And Overview) och hade som mål att hjälpa projektorganisationens dagliga arbete och vara ett stöd till projektkoordineringen. PCAO ger projektkoordinatorn möjlighet att få en överblick över hur projektledarnas tid är fördelade i nuläget och i framtiden. Detta ger en möjlighet att kunna se framtida kritiska moment då projektorganisationen är överbelastade under en period. Genom en bra överblick av projektorganisationen så kan fördelningen av projekt hanteras smidigare, vilket gör att det blir lättare att se till att det blir en jämnare arbetsfördelning. Detta resulterar att projektkoordinatorn kan ge projektledarna en bättre arbetsmiljö och bättre förutsättningar för att kunna göra ett så bra och effektivt arbete som möjligt.
