E-butik för uthyrning : Ett CMS i PHP

Edström, Mathilda January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this assignment was to develop a CMS, Content Management System, where the user can control their own e-commerce store. By creating functions for handling Orders, Customer records, Products, Categories and Pages, you build a foundation for an independent e-commerce system. This is supplemented by a webshop, with a theme, which is used as a showroom for the e-commerce store. There you can place an order only with the payment method ”Pay at delivery”, since a full cash system is not yet integrated. The system and webshop is built on Laravel and PHP, with Bootstrap as a frontend framework for the CMS and jQuery for some backend. User tests are performed at the end of the development process to assess the simplicity of the system. The study shows that the system works, but there are development opportunities and needs for the addition of functions. But this is an expected result, as the system as a whole is not finished at this point, but will be continued to build on before the official launch. The report itself contains the entire development process, from idea to the finished result. Then you go through the result and the author expresses her opinions about the work. Ethical and social aspects are also highlighted as the e-commerce business contributes to both the advantages and disadvantages of daily trade and working life.

Participatory approach an opportunity or a hurdle to water reforms: " Experiences from save catchment council, Zimbabwe

Dube, Dumisani Hendry January 2002 (has links)
Magister Philosophiae - MPhil / For generations, participation has been a mainstay of academic writing and teaching. By the 1970's, the policy statements of the major international donors and implementing agencies all emphasize the importance of participation (Dudley, 1993). It is time to stop simply reiterating the cry for community participation and prolonged argument about definitions of participation - related concepts. That was yesterday's battle. Certainly, despite all the rhetoric, participation often does not happen.

Reaching the Masses through Your Content Management System

Adebonojo, Leslie G., Campbell, Kathy, Ellis, Mark 01 May 2011 (has links)
Using your institution's content management system to distribute a module on the library's resources creates an effective venue for reaching students. Our goal was to get the word out about our resources and teach our students a few techniques about searching by using our institution's course management system. We created a Desire2Learn (D2L) module for release to all faculty consisting of short films and documents about the library as well as websites of interest. If the professor decides to incorporate the module into their course site, it becomes part of the course's class content. We are currently monitoring 67 courses.

El texto completo de este trabajo no está disponible en el Repositorio Académico UPC por restricciones de la casa editorial donde ha sido publicado. / The objective of this work is to develop a quality management system focused on the principles of TQM for cocoa micro and small enterprises (MSEs) in the province of La Convención, Cusco - Perú. The diagnosis for this investigation was made using in-depth interviews to the cocoa farmers that facilitated the identification of the current situation of cocoa MSEs. With the results obtained and based on the scientific articles studied, the critical elements in each activity related to the cocoa production process were determined, and it is focused on establishing a quality management system adaptable to the requirements of the plots studied. As a result of the analysis of the experts, the system in question is based on the following principles of TQM: documentation, customer focus, process-based approach and continuous improvement.

Pavement management system to improve local road administration using PCI, IRI and PSI for pavement failures identification

Quispe Sagastegui, Jose Andy, Rioja Schilder, Luisiana, Silvera, Manuel, Reyes, Jose 30 September 2020 (has links)
El texto completo de este trabajo no está disponible en el Repositorio Académico UPC por restricciones de la casa editorial donde ha sido publicado. / A pavement management system (PMS) is a tool that supports decision-making specialists to maintain the pavement at an optimal service level. The absence of a PMS could lead to inadequate decision-making, a disorganized road inventory, poor selection in road maintenance techniques and inefficient technical support to justify the execution of maintenance activities. For these reasons, this research proposes the application of a PMS, with the objective of improving and standardizing the processes for evaluating the condition of roads that are under the jurisdiction of low-budget government organizations, guaranteeing the selection of the most appropriate type of maintenance. As a case of study, a 1.1 km local road located in one of the districts of Lima was evaluated, which was divided into 11 sections. With this evaluation, it was obtained that 2,605.43 m2 of the total road is in poor condition, due to the presence of functional failures. For the identification of failures, the pavement condition index (PCI), the international roughness index (IRI) and the present serviceability index (PSI) were used to determine the condition, roughness and serviceability of the pavement. In conclusion, it was identified that the proposed PMS is adequately adapted to the way of working and available budget of a local administration, since if it is applied it would only spend 20.55% of the fund that would be destined to a total reconstruction of road.

Scalable Stream Processing and Management for Time Series Data

Mousavi, Bamdad 15 June 2021 (has links)
There has been an enormous growth in the generation of time series data in the past decade. This trend is caused by widespread adoption of IoT technologies, the data generated by monitoring of cloud computing resources, and cyber physical systems. Although time series data have been a topic of discussion in the domain of data management for several decades, this recent growth has brought the topic to the forefront. Many of the time series management systems available today lack the necessary features to successfully manage and process the sheer amount of time series being generated today. In this today we stive to examine the field and study the prior work in time series management. We then propose a large system capable of handling time series management end to end, from generation to consumption by the end user. Our system is composed of open-source data processing frameworks. Our system has the capability to collect time series data, perform stream processing over it, store it for immediate and future processing and create necessary visualizations. We present the implementation of the system and perform experimentations to show its scalability to handle growing pipelines of incoming data from various sources.

Facilitating reproducible computing via scientific workflows – an integrated system approach

Cao, Yuan 04 May 2017 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / Reproducible computing and research are of great importance for scientific investigation in any discipline. This thesis presents a general approach to provenance in the context of workflows for widely used script languages. Our solution is based on system integration, and is demonstrated by integrating MATLAB with VisTrails, an open source scientific workflow system. The integrated VisTrails-MATLAB system supports reproducible computing with truly prospective and retrospective provenance at multiple granularity levels as scientists choose for their scripts, and at the same time, is very easy to use.
