Farní analýza / Parish Analysis

ERDINGEROVÁ, Eva January 2007 (has links)
Diploma project is focused on a parish as a representant of the church in a local area where it is trying to reach four well known goals of the church - liturgia, martyria, diakonia, koinonia. The Parish analysis is a method which can help parishes to fullfill these important missions. The first part of the diploma project is dedicated to the theory which is trying to provide a complex view on the parish itself. The second part is about the parish's tasks like its local roles streaming from the church and its ability to fullfil them. Third part is focused on the parish analysis as a method of parish renewal process. It describes its main characteristics, how the process is working and describes some recommendations how to apply the parish analysis based upon some examples from abroad. In the last part of diploma project, the author is trying to help parishes in the application of the parish analysis by the preparation of a questionary for the investigation phase of the current status of a parish. This part describes questionary's preparation procedure, pilot investigation and a preparation of a new questionary based upon the evalution of the previous one. The diploma project goal is to motivate a parish to the selfreflection and encourage it to start real steps heading to the parish's renewal and development.

Water systems, water policy, and Karst terrain: An analysis of the complex relationships between geology, economy, public perceptions, and policy in southern Trelawny, Jamaica.

McCall, Sarah 12 1900 (has links)
Jamaica has an abundance of freshwater resources, however, a lack of infrastructure makes treated, piped water inaccessible in many areas. Through literature reviews and site visits, this thesis is an analysis of how the people and land, and money and policy, interact with one another in relation to Jamaica's freshwater resources and water infrastructure. Special attention is given to the island's type-example Cockpit karst geology; tourism, mining, and farming's relation to this karst; types of water delivery systems in rural southern Trelawny's Cockpit Country; southern Trelawny residents' perceptions of the water situation; and policy and development goals in the context of Jamaica and southern Trelawny. I hope to bring attention to the unique social, geologic, and developmental context of water in Jamaica, and more specifically to garner attention for major water infrastructure improvements in south Trelawny. A number of recommendations for improvements with policy and infrastructure are made.

Becoming Borderland Communities: Ritual Practice and Solidarity in Shared Parishes

Reynolds, Susan Bigelow January 2018 (has links)
Thesis advisor: Hosffman Ospino / Roughly one-third of U.S. Catholic parishes serve parishioners of multiple cultural, ethnic, and/or linguistic groups. In these “shared parishes,” the possibility and meaning of community across boundaries is an urgent question. This dissertation examines the role of ritual in the formation of community in diverse parishes. Critiquing prevailing ecclesiological models of unity in diversity that inadequately address structural sins of racism and xenophobia, I argue for an understanding of communion as a task of the local Church, embodied ritually in solidaristic practice. Then, establishing a conversation among ritual studies and U.S. Latinx discourses of border identity, I propose an understanding of the shared parish as a kind of borderland – as a place where a subjunctive communal identity can be negotiated ritually through embodied engagement. Methodologically, the dissertation is grounded in an ethnographic study conducted over five years at St. Mary of the Angels, a small, diverse parish in Boston, MA. Weaving together historical and archival data from parish, neighborhood, and archdiocese; participant-observation of bilingual Holy Week liturgies; and Spanish- and English-language interviews, the case study foregrounds the dissertation's theoretical work by analyzing how parishioners constructed rituals that facilitated the crossing of cultural, racial, and linguistic boundaries. / Thesis (PhD) — Boston College, 2018. / Submitted to: Boston College. Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. / Discipline: Religious Education and Pastoral Ministry.

Verbum Domini jako inspirace pro setkávání nad Biblí / Verbum Domini as inspiration for the meeting the Bible

Souradová, Marie January 2018 (has links)
The thesis deals with the creation of the methodology of holding Bible discussion meetings for adults in the parish of Žamberk. The theoretical section focuses on the importance of the Bible in the life of a Christian and finds its resources in the documents of the Magisterium of the Church, especially in the Apostolic Exhortation Verbum Domini and in the dogmatic constitution Dei Verbum. The thesis selects the criteria for catechesis with the Bible from the documents. The objective of the project is to create its own methodology for a particular group of adult believers from the parish of Žamberk. When creating the metodology, results of a probe from other parishes are taken into account. The methodology is tested and its evaluation is based on the feedback of the participants. Keywords methodology, Bible, parish, Verbum Domini, Christian

Historie farnosti v Mostě v letech 1945-1990 / The History of the Parish in Most 1945-1990

Hausner, Martin January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this work was to describe the history of the parish in Most in years 1945 - 1990. This period comprises almost half a century, which was full of dramatic events in the state, political, municipal, parochial and private area. The defeat of the Nazi ideology occured at the beginning of this period and the fall of the atheistic ideology at its end. Also the parish in Most was afflicted by many changes and strokes during this period. Firstly, it was the post- war terror against German inhabitants and their violent removal. Shortly afterwards occurs the communist putsch, which leads to the initially hidden and soon afterwards to the open fight against Churches. The Church becomes a slave to the supervision and the authority of state officials. The parish in Most with its churches is almost symbolically in the spirit of the time swept off from the earth's surface at this time and the asylum was founded in a small parish hall. After nearly twenty years of living in the constant provisional arrangement has the parish its own church again. The totalitarianism is at the end of its power and the democracy is coming. The parish in Most is learning to live and to breath freely after many decades of the lack of the freedom. Keywords History, church, parish, churches, priests
