Analýza a návrh modulu doporučovacího systému / Recommendation system module analysis and design

KORTUS, Lukáš January 2015 (has links)
Recommendation systems serve to users of e-commerce applications for individual recommendations to certain products or services based on their preferences. The aim of this thesis is to create a module of recommender system. The work includes analysis of recommendation systems and the methods used in these systems, including a description of the calculations. This work also solves the cold start problem, which is a problem when generation of some good recommendations for the new user is needed, but the recommendation system has no or little information about this user. Based on analysis is in this thesis designed module for recommender system, which is applicable e.g. internet for e-commerce or other internet-based application. Part of this module is the realization of a platform Apache Mahout, which some parts are built on a distributed computing platform Apache Hadoop project. Furthermore, in this work, on the aforementioned platform Mahout, selected methods of calculating the similarity using selected criteria (e.g. the average time for a recommendation, and the number of users for who have not been able to generate recommendations) are tested.

Hodnocení estetiky krajiny

Janečková, Eva January 2016 (has links)
The thesis deals with aesthetic value of the landscape and the way people perceive the landscape. The review of the literature contains the clarification of the basic terms, a summary of theoretical and practical knowledge, presents the results of international surveys that capture basic approaches of landscape assessment. The practical part contains the results of a sociological survey, which aimed to determine the visual preferences of the general public of the countryside and landscape features. There were evaluated photos of various landscape sceneries of the three regions in Czech Republic (Beskydy, Pálava and Moravian Karst) in the research presented. Results of the survey are summarized in tables, charts, and graphical elements and they are verbally commented. It was also found out which landscape features people consider as important to be preserved for future generations, and what the current threats to the country are considered as the most serious.

Faktory ovlivňující stravovací návyky žáků základních škol / Factors affecting food preferences of primary school pupils

Fourová, Karolína January 2016 (has links)
In the Czech Republic and the whole world, the global prevalence of overweight children and child obesity is increasing. This situation may result in a continuation overweight or obesity until adulthood and development related diseases, social and psychological discomfort. Overweight in children and adolescents may have a variety of negative consequences, affecting not only quality of life, but also health in adulthood. These include, for example, osteoporosis, diabetes second type, obstructive sleep apnea, hypertension, dyslipidemia or metabolic syndrome, but also the psychological aspects. Skipping breakfast or snacks and the overall low frequency of eating is often associated with high consumption of sweetened beverages and foods, high in simple sugars and a large amount of fat, which affects the development of overweight and obesity. The creation of the principles of good eating and lifestyle is depending on lifestyle of the whole family in childhood or adolescence. The environment for eating, which is created by family and school, has positive effect on promoting healthy eating and it can contribute to reducing the obesity epidemic. This study presents evidence on the level of nutrition education for elementary school pupils in the Czech Republic. Confirmation of the hypothesis, which is based on the fact, that absence of breakfast and snacks in children eating habits leads to a higher frequency of purchases of energy-dense foods with inappropriate nutritional composition, should highlight the need for increased intervention in the topic of parent's and children's eating habits. Results should support the importance of regular meals and nutritional balanced home-made snacks in children's eating habits, which could reduce the percentage of overweight and obese children and also the percentage of obese adults in future.

Flight activity of bats in habitats with different represantation of human settlements

Kovaříková, Kristýna January 2016 (has links)
Bats are important part of diversity of mammal fauna and they are used as indicators of environment quality. Many bat species, even those regarded as forest dwellings, use human settlements as a roosts and shelters. The bat community structure and activity of particular species will be studied at different places in order to determine the influence of presence of human settlements on forest bats. Detectoring and recording of bat echolocation calls will be used as an effective method enabling to monitor the presence and activity of particular bat species in different habitats.

Statistická analýza preferencí ve spotřebě piva / Statistical analysis of preferences in beer consumption

Smetana, Radek January 2017 (has links)
The thesis discusses the analysis of preferences in beer consumption. It is divided into two main parts: the theoretical background and analytical sections. The basic principles such as manufacturing, technology and categorization of beer are explained in the theoretical part. Next the beer market in the Czech Republic is illustrated following with consumer characteristics. It is researched from two different angles. As the first there are marketing factors influencing buying habits of the consumer himself. The other one contains general patterns of food consumption, which are given for the food segment as a whole, and especially for beer consumption. This section is completed with elementary principles of research, questionnaire creation and its evaluation. The analytical part at the beginning is based on historical and freely available data from the Velké Popovice brewery - Kozel, which are analysed and complemented with predictions. The very core of this section is to evaluate the questionnaire using statistical software Statistica. The first evaluation here uses general hypotheses concerning the beer as a whole. The data concerning only the brewery Kozel build on those general hypotheses. The most important factors affecting beer consumption in general are: gender, monthly income and age. Regarding the brewery Kozel and the influencing factors are above all gender and monthly income, together with the type of beer.

Možnosti biologické ochrany proti květopasu jabloňovému v integrované a ekologické produkci

Vrabec, Luboš January 2016 (has links)
In the Czech Republic, apple orchards cover an area of 7.975, of which almost 55% involve superannuated plantations. The research was carried out in the Agricultural and Trade Cooperation - Orchards Starý Lískovec, which farm on 105.5. ha. In the thesis, a detailed description of the apple blossom weevil is given, including its biology, ecological requirements, harmful effects, and ways of its monitoring and regulation. The thesis also includes a chapter that is dedicated to resistance of the parasite against commonly used insecticides. The efficiency of natural insecticides Spintor and Spruzit-Flüssig was compared to a common insecticide Calypso 480SC. As a result, Spruzit-Flüssig seemed to be the most efficient (80%), in comparison with the least efficient Calypso 480 SC (50%). During the beginning of vegetation in 2015, the observations were made in order to discover the species preference of the apple blossom weevil. Jonagold was determined as most attacked cultivar, since in different areas of the orchard, 207 blossoms of 400 were attacked. On the contrary, Idared and Gloster revealed no evidence of having been attacked. Furthermore, ingestion activity of insect after insecticide application was observed; in all cases, the ingestion activity was inhibited.

An Evaluation of High versus Low Preferred Education-Based Stimulus Equivalence Protocols for Adults with Developmental Disabilities outside the Educational System

Richmond, Ryan Allen 01 May 2015 (has links)
The present study utilized Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 to investigate the role of comparing high and low preferred education-based stimulus equivalence protocols for adults with developmental disabilities outside the educational system. First, participants were exposed to all educational categories and completed a paired choice preference assessment to identify high and low preferred protocols. Next, participants completed high and low preferred protocols following an alternating treatments design, with an initial pretest, training, posttest, and a test for an emergent topography (typing skills). Results showed evidence of higher preference through duration and errors per min measures for two of three participants, with results unclear for a third participant. Furthermore, one participant displayed all equivalence classes expected of the training protocol, while another demonstrated all emergent relations for the high preferred protocol but only one of six for the low preferred protocol, and the last participant exceeded criterion for four of six posttests for the high preferred protocol, and two of six for the low preferred protocol. The results are discussed in terms of measures for preferences, habilitation, modifications to training protocols, the study's limitations, and directions for future research.

THE INFLUENCES OF COUNSELORS' RACE, MULTICULTURAL COUNSELING COMPETENCY, AND CLIENTS' RACIAL IDENTITY ON AFRICAN AMERICANS' COUNSELOR PREFERENCE

Beasley, Brittany Nicole 01 May 2013 (has links)
Through the use of an analog methodology and a factorial experimental design, the current study investigated the effects of counselors' race and multicultural competency on counselor preference for Black participants. Eighty-seven African American college students participated in an online or computer-administered study. The African American multiculturally competent counselor received significantly higher counselor effectiveness ratings than did the White multiculturally competent counselor. Also, the correlations between racial identity ideologies and counselor effectiveness were examined within each condition of race and multicultural competency. Racial Identity was measured with the Multidimensional Inventory of Black Identity (Sellers, Rowley, Chavous, Shelton, & Smith, 1997). The findings from this study may assist counselors and researchers in understanding how potential African American clients perceive counselors based on their race and multicultural competency and how client's racial identity may affect African American clients' perceptions of counselors' effectiveness.

AN EXAMINATION OF THE EXTENT ACCESS TO STIMULI DURING PICTORIAL BRIEF MSWO PREFERENCE ASSESSMENTS DETERMINES REINFORCER EFFICACY

Hensel, Allison Marie 01 May 2013 (has links)
While preference assessments are effective at identifying potential reinforcers, they consume large amounts of time and resources. Multiple variations have been developed in order to save time and money when conducting assessments such as briefer versions, pictorial formats, and verbal formats. The purpose of this study was to examine the efficacy of three different brief MSWO procedures at identifying effective reinforcers for children with developmental disabilities. The procedures of the current study examined a tangible brief MSWO procedure which provided access to the edibles, a pictorial brief MSWO procedure which provided access to the edibles, and a pictorial brief MSWO procedure which did not provide access to edibles. After hierarchies from all three assessments were identified, reinforcer assessments were conducted to determine the efficacy of highly preferred stimuli. Results indicated that all three formats were able to identify effective reinforcers, with similar hierarchies produced for three out of four participants.
