Effect Of Composition, Morphology And Semiconducting Properties On The Efficiency Of Cuin1-xgaxse2-ysy Thin-film Solar Cells Pre

Kulkarni, Sachin 01 January 2008 (has links)
A rapid thermal processing (RTP) reactor for the preparation of graded CuIn1-xGaxSe2-ySy (CIGSeS) thin-film solar cells has been designed, assembled and is being used at the Photovoltaic Materials Laboratory of the Florida Solar Energy Center. CIGSeS films having the optimum composition, morphology, and semiconducting properties were prepared using RTP. Initially films having various Cu/(In+Ga) ratios were prepared. In the next step selenium incorporation in these films was optimized, followed by sulfur incorporation in the surface to increase the bandgap at the surface. The compositional gradient of sulfur was fine-tuned so as to increase the conversion efficiency. Materials properties of these films were characterized by optical microscopy, SEM, AFM, EDS, XRD, GIXRD, AES, and EPMA. The completed cells were extensively studied by electrical characterization. Current-voltage (I-V), external and internal quantum efficiency (EQE and IQE), capacitance-voltage (C-V), and light beam induced current (LBIC) analysis were carried out. Current Density (J)-Voltage (V) curves were obtained at different temperatures. The temperature dependence of the open circuit voltage and fill factor has been estimated. The bandgap value calculated from the intercept of the linear extrapolation was ~1.1-1.2 eV. Capacitance-voltage analysis gave a carrier density of ~4.0 x 1015 cm-3. Semiconductor properties analysis of CuIn1-xGaxSe2-ySy (CIGSeS) thin-film solar cells has been carried out. The values of various PV parameters determined using this analysis were as follows: shunt resistance (Rp) of ~510 Ohms-cm2 under illumination and ~1300 Ohms-cm2 in dark, series resistance (Rs) of ~0.8 Ohms-cm2 under illumination and ~1.7 Ohms-cm2 in dark, diode quality factor (A) of 1.87, and reverse saturation current density (Jo) of 1.5 x 10-7A cm-2. The efficiency of 12.78% obtained during this research is the highest efficiency obtained by any University or National Lab for copper chalcopyrite solar cells prepared by RTP. CIGS2 cells have a better match to the solar spectrum due to their comparatively higher band-gap as compared to CIGS cells. However, they are presently limited to efficiencies below 13% which is considerably lower than that of CIGS cells of 19.9%. One of the reasons for this lower efficiency is the conduction band offset between the CIGS2 absorber layer and the CdS heterojunction partner layer. The band offset value between CIGS2 and CdS was estimated by a combination of ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) and Inverse Photoemission Spectroscopy (IPES) to be -0.45 eV, i.e. a cliff is present between these two layers, enhancing the recombination at the junction, this limits the efficiency of CIGS2 wide-gap chalcopyrite solar cells.

Webová brána pro přístup k měřicím zařízením / Web Gateway for Access to Measurement Devices

Zsíros, Anton January 2011 (has links)
This Master's thesis deals with design and implementation of a system that can access remote devices through computer network. Specifically, the serial port devices and audio input devices. The first step of the thesis was to do a survey in the field of similar available, focusing on applications that could be integrated into the final system. For serial port devices, it was necessary to find a solution that would allow redirecting data from the physical device to a computer network and creating virtual serial ports on client systems, through which would users access these devices. To transfer audio streams from audio input devices through computer network was chosen RTP protocol, which is well suited for data transmission in real time. The thesis also contains the description of handling received RTP stream on a client system. The result is a complex system that integrates the functionality of mentioned tools into a single unit.

Generation and Implementation of Virtual Landscapes for an Augmented Reality HMI-Laboratory

Milius, Jeannette 11 February 2014 (has links)
Three dimensional visualisation achieves tremendous savings in time and costs during the design process. Due to these circumstances this methods are gaining in importance. For example improvement in performance and the product security or enabling the operative optimization of a production sequence. By the virtual testing it is possible to validate a product in the whole developing process and product lifecycle. The flight simulator ATILa at Airbus Defence and Space in Friedrichshafen uses these advantages for own products. ATILa is used to test intelligent assistance systems for helicopter pilots. Here the graphic implementation of the virtual earth plays a key role when practicing realistical scenarios. This approach is implemented with the Common Database (CDB) which is enabled by the definition of specifications and standards. Different commercial software packages by Presagis are used to implement the aforementioned database. The software Terra Vista is used for the database generation, including the compilation. For the CDB implementation the software Vega Prime is used to prepare the data with the help of the RTP. The software Vega Prime is not able to display 3D models with LODs, due to a software error. Therefore a third software named Creator is used to modify them. The 3D models are available in the OpenFlight Format. This OpenFlight format consists of different kind of nodes with a complex hierarchical structure. Other software solutions, such as Autodesk or Blender, are not able to provide access to the specific structure. The edited models can be integrated in the virtual environment and have to defined by unambiguous indices. Various settings are used to implement the objects automatically. The compilation of the area of interest takes place by the definition of a geotile with a specific size depending on the latitude. The CDB ouput will be transferred by Vega Prime and with the help of the RTP into the simulator. In addition, there is the possibility to render various CDB databases in the simulator to enable a visualisation of the complete earth. Finally, any errors occurring will be described and methods of resolution explained. The complexity of the generation process of a CDB database could be represented with this thesis. However, the whole workflow of the visualisation of the earth is still in its initial stages, since among other things there are errors in the software. To sum up; the potential of the CDB can be evaluated as above average.

Bitrate smooting: a study on traffic shaping and -analysis in data networks / Utjämning av datatakt: en studie av trafikformning och analys i datanät

Gratorp, Christina January 2007 (has links)
