Att samtala om texter : från träteknik och svetsteori till antikens myter : Textsamtalets möjligheter som närmaste zon för läsutveckling i en klass på gymnasiets industritekniska program / Talking about Texts : from Carpentry Technology and Welding Theory to Ancient Myths : Text-talks as a potential zone of proximal development for reading in upper secondary vocational education

Visén, Pia January 2015 (has links)
This doctoral dissertation reports on results from case studies of how text-talks in a Swedish upper secondary school vocational programme, function as a zone of proximal development for reading. The aim was to investigate how text-talks function as a basis for discussion about the text content and thereby have a potential for developing understanding for the subject-specific text content in the subjects of Carpentry Technology, Welding Technology and Swedish in one class in the first year of the Industrial Technology Programme. The study is qualitative with an explorative approach (Burns 2011). Ordinary teaching and learning contexts were observed. The theorectical frame work is based on sociocultural (Säljö 2000) and sociosemiotic perspectives (Halliday 1978), a hermeneutical frame consisting mainly of the concepts of the zone of proximal development (Vygotskij 1934/2001), scaffolding (Wood, Bruner &amp; Ross 1976), dialogicity (Bachtin 1986), and pedagogical codes (Bernstein 2000), as well as an analytical frame deriving from systemic-functional linguistics (Halliday &amp; Matthiessen 2004) and reception theory (Langer 1995, 2011a, 2011b). Three research questions were posed: How do the teachers organise and conduct the text-talks? What linguistic connections with the text are constructed when text content is introduced and developed in the text-talk? In what ways does movement in the text manifest in the text-talk? Data were collected through class-room observations and interviews. Field notes and recordings were made of eight text-talks, and three teacher interviews. Analyses of intertextual cohesion (Eggins 2004), and activity sequences (Martin &amp; Rose 2007) were conducted. Analyses of text-based, associative and interactive text-movability (Liberg et al. 2012b) show the collaborative meeting with the text as expressed in the text-talk. The results indicate that built-out cohesion and progressive text-movability can widen the discourse around the text and thereby scaffold reading development. / <p>Delfinansierat av Ovanåkers kommun.</p>

Podoby výtvarných oborů na středních odborných školách / Forms of art studies in secondary vocational education

Svatková, Markéta January 2021 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of secondary vocational schools, specifically secondary art schools completed by the graduation exam. The Czech Republic has a relatively dense network of these schools, however, from the point of view of pedagogy it is insufficiently researched. The aim of the theoretical part of the work is to describe art education at secondary schools in the Czech Republic, to state the forms of art disciplines at secondary schools, the organization of teaching in specific forms of art studies and the curriculum of subjects. The work also deals with issues of the number of art schools in the Czech Republic, with the qualifications of teachers at these schools and the number of pupils admitted to these schools. The didactic part of the work will be devoted to qualitative research focused on the form of graphic design, as the most numerous form of art study represented at secondary vocational art education. The aim of the research is to describe the real situation in a sample of secondary vocational schools with the field of graphic design. According to predetermined criteria, I focus on the specifics of secondary vocational schools and then compare the sample of schools admission to study, graduation, representation of vocational subjects in curricula, the composition of...

Ämnesintegrering på vård- och omsorgsprogrammet utifrån ett verksamhetsteoretiskt perspektiv / Subject Integration in an upper-secondary Health and Social Care Program, from an Activity-Theoretical perspective

Christidis, Maria January 2014 (has links)
The study investigated subject integrated teaching and vocational knowledge in one Health and Social Care program. The material was collected ethnographically, during a period of a school semester (5 months), and analysed according to the Activity-Theoretical concepts actions, goals and tools. The results identified five goals for subject integrated teaching: the legitimacy of Swedish as a school subject; a focus on linguistic prescriptivism; the identity of vocational subjects; a predominant medical focus in vocational subjects; and a professional language. Further six recurrent tools were identified: a fictional book; a teacher-prepared hand-out; a teacher-constructed case report; teacher-examples from health care; and linguistic rules. There was a theoretical kind of vocational knowledge with focus on language issues, on medical aspects of care, and on a professional language. In conclusion, subject integrated teaching contributed with more than each of the specific subjects contributed with and simultaneously tensions between goals representing different subjects were found. However, tools were shared between subjects.

[en] PERMANENCE IN SECONDARY-VOCATIONAL EDUCATION: THE CASE OF INSTITUTO FEDERAL FLUMINENSE CAMPUS CABO FRIO / [pt] PERMANÊNCIA NO ENSINO MÉDIO PROFISSIONAL: O CASO DO INSTITUTO FEDERAL FLUMINENSE CAMPUS CABO FRIO

LENON ARAUJO DE MATOS 31 October 2018 (has links)
[en] The dissertation aims to identify the factors that influence the permanence of the students of the Integrated Technical Education of the Fluminense Federal Institute campus Cabo Frio. This is a longitudinal case study about the trajectory of incoming students in 2014 in the courses of Accommodation and Oil and Gas, covering the academic years of 2014, 2015 and 2016. Institutional records were consulted, questionnaires were applied to the students and semi-structured interviews were used to understand the students trajectories and their perceptions about the factors that influenced their permanence and / or dropout. The work includes a brief history about the trajectory of secondary vocational education and the recent expansion of the Federal Network of Vocational and Technological Education to contextualize and characterize the institution and its respective Student Assistance program. A sociodemographic profile of the students is then traced and their trajectories are described in the integrated technical courses of the IFF campus Cabo Frio. We then discuss the results observed in relation to the dropout and permanence factors in the institution. The study points the total or partial retention, the delays and interruptions of the school year due to staff s strikes, the extensive course load and the large number of tasks as factors that can influence dropout. Factors that influence permanence are the quality of the school, of classes and high school offered, the good relations between students, teachers and employees, the encouragement of student autonomy and the benefits of Student Assistance.

Výuka molekulární biologie na SŠ a analýza prekonceptů pojmu nukleové kyseliny / Education of Molecular Biology at Secondary School and Analysis of Preconception of Nucleic Acids Term

Hanušová, Eva January 2016 (has links)
The theoretical part assembles methodological starting points for the research - the content and meaning of curricula documents for science education; the contemporary scientific knowledge about selected molecularly biological topics taught at secondary schools; the characteristics of student preconceptions and misconceptions, their diagnosis and importance. The practical part contains the setting of research problems and aims related to their object, presented as the content analysis of curriculum and the teaching methods concerning molecularly biological topics at a selected secondary school; the diagnosis of preconceptions regarding the term "nucleic acids" with pupils (first, third and fourth grade) studying at a selected secondary school (ninety- five respondents) that served to the determination of overall character of stated preconception (genesis, modification and conceptual change during the study at a secondary school). The incorporation of new laboratory exercises with the topic of nucleic acids to the education in the fourth grade and the assessment of their impact on the shape of the preconception has been also the part of the project. The evaluation was done by comparing of success in solving the tasks involved in the didactic test for pupils in the first and third grade and pupils...
