Previous issue date: 2009 / Resumo: As soluções adotadas durante a concepção arquitetônica têm amplas repercussões em todo o processo de projeto e a falta de conhecimento dos princípios determinantes na concepção da estrutura metálica pelo arquiteto é um dos fatores que influencia a pouca utilização deste material. O domínio sobre as especificidades da produção arquitetônica em aço é imprescindível para o correto processo de projeto e garante subsídios para projetistas, que deveriam ser iniciados na formação do arquiteto. Para tanto, o objetivo dessa dissertação é entender como ocorre a integração da arquitetura no processo de projeto e evidenciar quais são os requisitos e peculiaridades da arquitetura em aço. A pesquisa aborda a integração da arquitetura e a concepção do projeto a partir de uma revisão bibliográfica com temas correlatos e um estudo de campo que contribuiu para viabilizar o projeto em aço. A partir dessa revisão, analisou-se arquitetos selecionados de acordo com o envolvimento na produção em aço de modo a demonstrar a metodologia de projeto de cada profissional, possibilitando a posterior análise e comparação de similaridades e divergências. A partir da metodologia dos casos estudados, este trabalho colaborou com o aprimoramento de idéias e descobertas por parte dos profissionais de arquitetura das características e propriedades do aço, permitindo um entendimento da condução do processo de projeto em torno das diretrizes e premissas que garantem a integração das estruturas metálicas na concepção do projeto arquitetônico. Nesse contexto, o produto desta pesquisa envolveu o aumento das inter-relações entre arquitetos e processos de projeto que incluem com sucesso o uso da estrutura metálica. / Abstract: The used solutions during the architectural conception have wide repercutions in the whole design process and the architect's lack of knowledge regarding the principles for defining the steel structure's design is one of the factors influencing the non-use of this material. The know how of steel production's peculiarities is required for a correct design process and garantees a support for architects and engineers which should be acomplished in their graduation. Thus, the purpose of this research is to understand how the design process integrates with arquitecture and also to put in evidence the steel architectures requirements and peculiarities. From this review, previously selected architects were analyzed to show the design process of each of these professionals alowing later analysis and comparison of their similarities and differences. Thus, based on studied cases' methodology this work collaborated with architects' improvement of ideas and discoveries concerning steel's characteristics and properties, allowing the understanding of design's practice in steel construction from a survey around the guidelines that ensure steel structures and architectural projects design integration. / Mestrado / Arquitetura e Construção / Mestre em Engenharia Civil

The purpose of this thesis is the design of a load-bearing steel structure of a pedestrian footbridge across the river Opava. Two variants were taken into consideration - steel tied-arc footbridge and truss footbridge. Tied-arc variant with orthotropic deck was found the most suitable for detailed proposal. The span of the footbridge is 65,00 m and height of the structure is 7 m.

The median three-storey building is designed with ground plan measuring 42 meters x 22.27 meters to the distance of the poles 6m x 5m. The scope of the Master's thesis is the design, evaluation and the comparison of two variations of the solution for steel load-bearing structure which is a part of a gokart areal with adjacent refreshments. The construction is composed of three structurally dependent objects. For the first construction object, there were solved the variants with a truss and a frame structure. The construction has an irregular plan. The object plan dimensions are 75 x 45 m. The built up area covers 2450 m2. The construction reaches the height of 13,2 m. The thesis contains the design of dimensions, structural analysis and the evaluation of structural members. The calculation of internal forces was made by SCIA Engineer 16.1.62 software. Attached to the thesis is the drawing documentation.

Syftet med rapporten var att utveckla en transportvagn hos företaget Arronet Teknik AB där ett grundkoncept redan var uppfunnet sedan tidigare. Uppdraget skulle utföras för att effektivisera företagets nuvarande plåttransport. Transportvagnens huvudsakliga syfte var att transportera plåt på ett säkert, ergonomisk och praktiskt sätt från plåtlagerslokalen till produktionslokalen för beskärning. Eftersom produkten skulle sammansvetsas med metallrör, samlades litteraturstudier in i teorin för att identifiera vilket material som stålkonstruktionen ska konstrueras i. Materialet skulle ha god svetsbarhet och vara starkt föratt klara av tunga laster av plåt. Litteraturstudien innehöll även utformning av olikasvetsfogsdesigner och hur de implementeras i metallrörskonstruktioner. För att besvara frågeställning ett, som handlade om vilka krav som ställs på transportvagnen, utfördes en semi-strukturerad intervju i kombination med direkta observationer för att samla in kundkrav. Kundkraven omvandlades till produktkrav som därefter introducerades till produktutvecklingsprocessen. Frågeställning två handlade om hur transportvagnen kundekonstrueras för att uppfylla de identifierade kraven. För att besvara frågeställningen delades produktutvecklingsprocessen upp i två delar där koncept för drivna vagnar utforskades och koncept för en drivande vagn. Tester med FEM-simulationer och ostrukturerade intervjuer användes för att bestämma varsitt koncept. Arbetet resulterade i ett underlag för företaget med konstruktionsförslag för de påkopplade vagnarna, den drivande vagnen och andra komponenter som tillhörde transportvagnen. Resultaten analyserades och diskuterades därefter. / The purpose of the study was to develop a design proposition for a transport cart for Arronet Teknik AB where a basic concept already had been developed. The purpose of the task was to streamline the company’s current sheet metal handling process. The transport cart’s main purpose was to transport sheet metal in a safe, ergonomic, and practical way from the warehouse to the production premises for processing. Because the transport cart was to be welded together with metal tubes, literature studies had to be done for the theory, to identify the most common metals used in welded metal constructions. Hence the literature study contained different configurations of welding joints and how they integrate tubular constructions. To answer research question 1 which asked what the requirements of the transport cart was, a semi-structured interview in combination with direct observations was needed to collect customer requirements. The customer requirements where then translated into product requirements and then introduced into the product development process. Research question 2asked how the transport cart was to be constructed to fulfil the previously stated requirements. To answer the question the product development process was divided into two parts where one part contained the development of the driven carts and the other contained the drivetrain. Tests with FEM-simulations and unstructured interviews was used to decide upon the final concepts. The study resulted in proposed design for the company.
